Requirements

Education

  • Master’s Degree in psychology /or bachelor’s degree in psychology or any relevant areas of psychology, Gender and Development studies, Social Science etc.

Experience

  • At least 1 year

  • Have the capacity to maintain close relationships with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.
  • Language: Good oral and written language skills in Bengali and English
  • Computer skills (MS Office package-Both in English and Bangla)
  • Experience in working in remote community settings.
  • Experience in working with INGO/NGO

Job Context:

  • SOLIDARITY established in 1992. The organization has sound trustful relationships with local administration as well as technically supporting national & international organizations and local civil society. SOLIDARITY is working at Kurigram since 32 years with well-known popularity in working areas in the Rangpur division and nationally to other development agencies in both the Go & NGO sector. SOLIDARITY is always committed to poor & underprivileged people and the state for it’s real development. Climate-induced hazards and displacement have an impact on the mental and psychosocial well-being of young people.
  • By 2050, climate change will cause one in every seven people in Bangladesh suffer displacement. About 4.1 million people were displaced as a result of climate disasters by 2019 (2.5% of the population), additional 13.3 million people could be displaced by climate change by 2050. To support these internally displaced populations, especially young people, the ORF funded supported by Terre Des Hommes-Foundation (Tdh) to launch this project named “Sport for Protection, Resilience, and Transformation” (SPiRIT) in early 2022. SOLIDARITY has been Implementing the SPiRiT project in Kurigram District supported by TDH.
  • SOLIDARITY has been inviting applications from suitable candidates for the Technical officer Mental Health and Psychosocial positions for its ‘’Sports for Protection Resilience and Transformation’’ (SPIRIT) project Supported by ‘’Terre Des Hommes-Foundation’’ for maximum 10 months project period since September 2024 to work at Kurigram Sadar, Ulipur and Chilmari sub-districts under Kurigram district.

Job Responsibilities:

Technical Officer (Mental Health Psychosocial Support):

  • Provide training workshop on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for the project staff
  • Assist to design the training module on MHPSS with the support of the technical team of Tdh
  • Ensure technical guidance to the project team for any mental health case management and skill development, identify barriers to accessing sports sessions and services, and support managing the solutions by the guidance of organization policy.
  • Development/collection of MHPSS counseling IEC/SBCC, audio/video materials, and oriented to the field team for their use properly
  • Facilitate timely, appropriate, and confidential referrals to specialized mental health care or other needed services when needed using the establish referral linkage with respective government sectors for MHPSS cases,
  • Assist to support community mobilization activity, assessing MHPSS issues and need basis support
  • Support with communication with communities activities including monitoring and supervision
  • Fluent communication with the donor agency and local stakeholders
  • Incorporate Safeguarding in each activity and maintain PSEA Policy in all aspects of.
  • Support in project report writing on MHPSS including case management.

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Salary: Tk 35000-38000 (Monthly) Salary may increase based on experience and additional expertise
  • Other Benefits: As per the organization’s policy.
