Experience:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages of the project areas.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to work in challenging field conditions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to remote and hard-to-reach areas as required by the project.
  • Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to the changing needs of the community and the project.

Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement the Contingency Partnership to Respond to Emergencies in Chattogram Division, funded by UNICEF Bangladesh; which will assist affected populations in Cumilla, Feni and Noakhali districts., Covering health, nutrition, WASH, child protection, education, and social behavior change.

The project targets over 600,000 individuals, focusing on pregnant women, children, and vulnerable groups. Key activities include medical camps, nutritional support, safe water and sanitation facilities, child protection, and educational continuity, all integrated with capacity development.

Duration – 06 months.

Job Summary:

The Field Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities at the community level. They will engage with local community members, leaders, and volunteers to promote health, hygiene, and sanitation practices. The role involves conducting awareness sessions, assisting in the distribution of supplies, and ensuring that community members understand and participate in the project’s objectives. The Field Facilitator will also report on the progress of field activities and gather community feedback to improve interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate Community-Level Implementation:

  • Support the implementation of WASH activities, including the disinfection and rehabilitation of 1,000 water points and 160 shared water points.
  • Facilitate the installation of 500 household-level handwashing facilities and train beneficiaries on the use of tippi-taps during hygiene sessions.
  • Assist in the distribution of Water Purification Tablets (WPTs), jerrycans, and Standard Hygiene Packages, including menstrual hygiene management supplies to adolescent girls and women.

Community Engagement & Awareness:

  • Engage with community members, local leaders, and other stakeholders to promote the project’s WASH objectives.
  • Organize and conduct awareness sessions on hygiene practices, health, nutrition, and protection in collaboration with 16 trained volunteers.
  • Promote key hygiene messages and behaviors to improve health outcomes within the community.

Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the WASH Officer, DPHE, and other project team members to ensure the effective delivery of project activities.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the project team and local authorities to ensure community participation and ownership of WASH interventions.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Gather feedback from the community regarding the impact and effectiveness of the WASH interventions.
  • Monitor the participation of community members and report on challenges, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Submit timely reports on field activities, progress, and community feedback to the WASH Officer or Project Coordinator.

Support Distribution of Services and Supplies:

  • Assist in the equitable distribution of water, sanitation, and hygiene-related supplies to ensure that they reach the targeted households and shelters.
  • Monitor the use of distributed supplies and provide guidance to community members on their correct usage.

PSEA Policy-

S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Contingent Task Assignments:

The Project Head may assign additional tasks based on the demands of the emergency situation and program requirements.
