Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement the Contingency Partnership to Respond to Emergencies in Chattogram Division, funded by UNICEF Bangladesh; which will assist affected populations in Cumilla, Feni and Noakhali districts., Covering health, nutrition, WASH, child protection, education, and social behavior change.

The project targets over 600,000 individuals, focusing on pregnant women, children, and vulnerable groups. Key activities include medical camps, nutritional support, safe water and sanitation facilities, child protection, and educational continuity, all integrated with capacity development.

Duration – 06 months.

Job Summary:

The SBC District Facilitator will be responsible for implementing Social and Behavior Change activities at the district level, ensuring the effective dissemination of lifesaving messages related to health, nutrition, education, hygiene, child protection, and gender-based violence prevention during the flood emergency.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation:

  • Implement SBC activities in the district, ensuring that context-specific messages reach target populations.
  • Conduct face-to-face interpersonal communication sessions at the household and community levels.

Training and Orientation:

  • Assist in the orientation of local leaders, faith-based leaders, teachers, and other key stakeholders on community engagement standards.
  • Support training sessions on SBC topics for district-level personnel.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with community members to promote participation in response activities.
  • Utilize multimedia communication channels such as community miking, radio/FM, and SMS for message dissemination.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor the reach and impact of SBC activities within the district.
  • Collect feedback from community members and stakeholders, and report to the SBC Coordinator.
  • Ensure the AAP system is functioning at the district level, referring feedback to appropriate service points.

PSEA Policy-

S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Contingent Task Assignments:

The Project Head may assign additional tasks based on the demands of the emergency situation and program requirements.
