  • Strong Technical Skills in Mechanical Engineering Systems and Infrastructure.

• Sound understanding and technical knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems, including installation supervision, repair, and maintenance of Water-Cooled Chillers including Cooling Towers & VRF System.

• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications related to HVAC Systems.

• Knowledge of HVAC software and tools for diagnostics and system analysis.

• Working knowledge in AutoCAD and Designing.

• Planning and organizing skills of Project Resources in both short-term and long-terms to achieve organizational goals.

• Good Communication Skills-must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace, ensuring good information flow.

• Team Building and effective skills, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge about Building Codes, Fire Safety, BNBC Codes etc.

Responsibilities & Context

Responsible for the Hotel Pre-Opening of engineering activities. Coordinate and supervise fabrication, installation, commissioning testing, and inspection of HVAC System, VRF System (Including AHU, FCU & Ventilation System), BMS, FLS, Kitchen Equipment & Laundry Equipment, & Other Mechanical Equipment / Infrastructure of the project. Will ensure, project team is working safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and Local Government Legislation. Will directly supervise and coordinate work progress of the related vendors.

INDICATORS OF SUCCESS

▪ Inform and update hotel owners regarding Mechanical System Installation progress and to ensure all Mechanical Systems are installed and commissioned in a manner to achieve hotel functionality and maximum operational efficiency.

▪ Completion of all Mechanical Systems of the project on time and as per budget and in accordance with approved Shop Drawings.

▪ Manage, coordinate and supervise installation, commissioning and testing of all Mechanical System (including related equipment) during the pre-opening phase of the hotel project.

▪ Ensure coordination among all vendors, contractors and consultants for installation, commissioning and testing of all the Mechanical System (including related equipment) of the project.

▪ Adherence to Mechanical System budget during project implementation

▪ Once the hotel is in operation, monitor all maintenance programs for guest rooms, back of the house, public spaces, and equipment to ensure the reliability, safety, and comfort of all guests and staff.

KEY AREAS

• Mechanical part of Water Management System (WTP, ETP, STP, Heat Pumps, Booster Pumps).

• Mechanical part of Swimming Pool Equipment, Boosting Systems, and others Internal & External Mechanical System.

• FLS, Kitchen & Laundry Equipment / Infrastructure, Food Service Equipment / Infrastructure & Other Mechanical Equipment / Infrastructure of the project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular site supervision to verify the quality of Mechanical Installations, promptly identifying and addressing any issues or deficiencies to uphold project standards and ensure optimal functionality.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Mechanical Systems within, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Responsible for on-site supervision of Entire HVAC System including assigning tasks, scheduling work, and ensuring timely completion of the project.

• Responsible to monitor and inspect HVAC installations including Water-Cooled Chillers with Cooling Towers, VRF System, BMS, FCU, AHU & Mechanical Ventilations System.

• Troubleshoot complex HVAC problems and provide guidance and support to vendor, technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues.

• Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential problems and recommend preventive maintenance measures.

• Train and mentor HVAC technicians, providing guidance on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and repair procedures.

• Manage inventory of HVAC equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled projects and repairs.

• Kitchen, Laundry, Food & Beverage Equipment, FLS System.

• Fixing & Repairs of all Mechanical System and Equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.

• Equipment tests during installation and commissioning. Providing observations and recommendations to the Project Director / Chief Engineer to ensure compliance with standards and quality assurance.

• Prepare and maintain documentation related to Mechanical Engineering activities, including drawings, specifications, progress reports, and as-built records to ensure accurate record-keeping and facilitating comprehensive project documentation.

• Engage with the design team, vendors, consultants to evaluate and incorporate Mechanical System Design alterations and adjustments when needed, promoting project flexibility and alignment with evolving requirements.

• Supervise and control the Mechanical Maintenance Request System.

• Analyze, monitors and maintains records relating to Mechanical System and Equipment throughout the Hotel.

• Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment and ensure that inspections required by Government authorities are conducted and documented.

• Carry out general room, public area, BOH inspections and preventative maintenance inspections including the scheduling of all these works.

• Control and supervise the Q Hotel Dhaka Fire Protection, Detection Preventative Maintenance Program with other engineering functions.

• Check all Fire and Engineering safety features to ensure they operate at peak efficiency.

• Ensure proper measures are taken to protect the environment and the Hotel’s adherence to it.

• Implements energy and water management systems to minimize wastage and costs.

• Implement cost effective Preventative Maintenance and Condition Monitoring Programs.

• Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of Mechanical Engineering Services.

• Liaise and supervise all Mechanical related Contractors & Consultants on site and ensure appropriate standards are met.

• Carry out all emergency repairs of Mechanical System.

• Maintain and audit all workshop tools and equipment.

• Oversee so that expenses are in line with department budgeting, capital plan and projects.

• Implement and maintain training systems to ensure that associates have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively.

• Prepare work schedules and annual leave schedules within budget.
