Responsibilities & Context

CODEC Improves Access to Inclusive and Comprehensive Eye Health Services in Bangladesh Project.

Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement the CODEC Improve Access to Inclusive and Comprehensive Eye Health Services in Bangladesh Project funded by CBM Global in Bakerganj, Banaripara and Barishal Sadar Upazillas under Barishal District, Bangladesh.

CODEC Improves Access to Inclusive and Comprehensive Eye Health Services in Bangladesh Project aims to establish an inclusive eye care system connecting the main base hospital, community clinics, and vision centers. The context underscores the lack of awareness among persons with disabilities and underprivileged communities regarding available services.

CODEC Improve access to inclusive and comprehensive eye health services in Bangladesh Project will collaborate with three Disabled People’s Organizations (OPDs) – Bakerganj, Banaripara, and Barishal Sadar – along with Sher-E-Bangla Hospital, private hospitals (Grameen Shastho Hospital Barishal, Islamia Hospital Barishal), and the National Eye Care (NEC) of Bangladesh. CODEC will sign MoUs with OPDs, district-level hospitals, and private hospitals, fostering collaboration to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in eye health services.

The Monitoring & Documentation Officer will work under the supervision of the Project Manager for monitoring including program impact assessment, developing different monitoring tools and providing feedback on project progress.

General Management:

  • Develop and strengthen monitoring and evaluation procedures.
  • Provide strategic direction and share field findings with effective suggestions.
  • Assist the project team to achieve the best outcome.
  • Ensure documentation on case studies, best practices, field experiences, newsletters, bulletins, positive changes in beneficiaries’ lives and other advocacy materials.
  • Support all co-staff to collect and manage the data and information related to the project activities. Ensure reports & findings are communicated effectively through close collaboration with the project team.
  • Provide training, guidance and support to project staff for utilizing monitoring tools, techniques and calendars.
  • Frequent visits at fields to monitor program activities and provide feedback to field-level staff;
  • Perform any other related duties or responsibilities that may be assigned by the organization and donor agency.

Monitoring and Documentation:

  • Monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project output.
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on the achievement of results.
  • Provide feedback to the Management on project strategies and activities.
  • Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the management.
  • Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use. Assist the Project Manager in preparing project reports and other relevant reports on the findings and lessons learned from project innovations.
  • Prepare and maintain database.
  • Assist the Head Office Monitoring and Evaluation team.
  • Time to time document (Pictures, Audio, and Video) the progress of the project.
  • Regular visits and monitor the progress of the Organization of Persons with Disability OPDs.
  • Ensure reports and findings are communicated effectively through close collaboration with the project team;
  • Documentation of significant achievements and gather learnings, challenges, and field experiences to set recommendations.
  • Prepare and ensure timely and accurate monitoring, programmatic and periodic reports for the donor agency.
  • Attend various internal and external meetings, seminar, and workshops that are relevant to the project.

People Management:

  • Provide direction and monitor supervisees in their implementation of the work plan and quality of technical activities, share relevant information and direction to improve quality and achieve timelines.
  • Ensure staff capacity development, including on-the-job coaching and mentoring, as appropriate. Conduct regular management supervision sessions for staff.
  • Ensuring a respectful working environment for employees and the public.
  • Taking appropriate steps to resolve any grievances and address all reports accordingly.
  • OPD Development and engagement.
  • Establishing good relations with the CEO and staff members Organization of Persons with Disability (OPD)s.
  • Re-enforce and develop the capacity of OPDs regarding advocacy- lobby, Inclusiveness, financial management, networking, disability and gender responsiveness and inclusive development.
  • Diagnose OPD’s growth and engagement with government structure & provide strategic direction and require assistance to achieve project objectives.

Coordination and Representation:

  • Coordination with Local Administration, Health Department, and Local government authorities.
  • Rapport building and coordination with local Eye health service providers.
  • Regular communication with the authority, Committee members and staff of Community Clinics,
  • Vision Centers and Base Hospital.
  • Promote improved understanding and awareness of quality eye health service among all relevant stakeholders, including government officials.
  • S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (concerning Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Festival Bonus (paid on a pro-rata basis during religious festivals and Yearly/ final payment)

• Travel and Transportation for project activity will be paid per organization policy and project Budget.

• Yearly Increment will be given based on the results of performance appraisal.
