  • Strong understanding of Bangladeshi retail markets and customer preferences.
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations concerning retail and model pharmacy compliance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities & Context

This position will support the day-to-day operations across various sections within a multi-section outlet, including the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), IT Products & Accessories, Eyewear, Pharmacy and Hardware sections. This role demands strong leadership, organizational and customer service skills to ensure smooth functioning and compliance with industry standards, particularly in the context of the Bangladeshi retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily operations across all sections, ensuring each department functions efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels in collaboration with section heads, ensuring timely restocking of products and maintaining an organized display.
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness in hardware and IT sections and compliance with health and safety regulations in the pharmacy.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) across the outlet.

Customer Service:

  • Foster a customer-centric environment by addressing and resolving customer complaints promptly.
  • Ensure staff across all sections are trained in excellent customer service practices.
  • Monitor product pricing and promotions to remain competitive within the market while complying with local regulations.

Staff Management & Training:

  • Supervise and lead teams across different sections to ensure their efficient performance.
  • Coordinate with HR to hire, train, and schedule staff across all sections.
  • Organize staff training on product knowledge, service standards, and safety protocols.

Sales & Financial Management

  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly sales reports for each section, tracking sales targets, and providing insights to the Outlet Manager.
  • Work with the finance team to manage budgets, cost controls, and financial reports for the outlet.
  • Monitor cash handling and point-of-sale operations across all sections, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Liaise with suppliers for FMCG, IT, eyewear, pharmacy and hardware products.
  • Ensure timely order placement and maintain healthy relationships with suppliers to negotiate better rates and ensure consistent stock flow.

Marketing & Promotions:

  • Assist the Outlet Manager in planning and executing promotional campaigns for each section in line with customer preferences and market trends.
  • Support marketing efforts by ensuring that products are effectively promoted in-store and through social media channels.

Compliance & Regulatory Management:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Bangladeshi laws related to retail operations, labor and pharmacy compliance.
  • Ensure that all sections are regularly inspected for safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Ensure the pharmacy section adheres to government regulations related to pharmaceuticals and medical products.
