Responsibilities & Context

A renowned 100% export-oriented knit composite company in the country is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly capable professional for the position of General Manager-Quality (Apparel & Washing) located in Gazipur.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) to ensure that all apparel and washing processes meet or exceed customer and industry standards.
Oversee quality control (QC) inspections throughout the apparel production process, including fabric quality, stitching, trims, and final product evaluations.
Monitor the washing process to ensure that garments meet specifications in terms of colorfastness, shrinkage, appearance, and hand feel.
Work closely with the technical teams to ensure that processes are optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining product quality.
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the processes to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards across all product lines.
Ensure that the organization complies with all industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements, including ISO, AQL standards, and environmental and safety regulations in garment washing.
Maintain documentation and certification records related to quality standards and washing processes.
Collaborate with fabric and trim suppliers to ensure that materials meet the company’s quality standards before production begins.
Conduct supplier audits, provide feedback, and work with vendors to resolve any quality issues before production.
Lead, mentor, and manage the quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) teams across apparel production and washing units.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest quality management practices and washing technologies.
Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving product quality, and enhancing the efficiency of washing processes.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for quality issues, ensuring that preventive measures are put in place to avoid future issues.
Introduce lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and enhance overall quality performance.
