Additional Requirements

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in monitoring and documenting qualitative data collection (KII, IDI, FGD, PAR) and transcription.
  • Strong understanding of research, monitoring, evaluation, and process documentation.
  • Experience working on climate resilience, SRHR, and with women is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working with vulnerable women, adolescent girls, and in cross-cultural settings, with frequent travel and fieldwork.

Responsibilities & Context

Organization Description:

Naripokkho is a membership-based women’s activist organization in Bangladesh working since 1983 for the advancement of women’s rights and entitlements and building resistance against violence, discrimination, and injustice. Naripokkho is conducting multifaceted programs aimed at ensuring women’s health and reproductive rights. Naripokkho’s work is focused on the following six interrelated thematic areas- equality and the political empowerment of women, violence against women and women’s human rights, women’s health and reproductive rights, gender issues in environment and development, cultural politics and representation of women and communal harmony.

Purpose: Naripokkho is looking to hire one monitoring and documentation officer for supervising and monitoring of qualitative data collection on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Climate change.

Designation : Monitoring and Documentation officer

Project Objective: The objective of this research is to understand how women’s experiences with climate change impact their reproductive health decision-making, behavior, and outcomes in char, haor and slum areas in Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage data collectors during fieldwork, ensuring adherence to data collection protocols and timelines.
  • Oversee the accurate and ethical implementation of the data collection methods, including IDIs, FGDs, and CDMs.
  • Provide guidance, and support to field staff to ensure high-quality data collection and compliance with research standards.
  • Monitor fieldwork progress, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure timely reporting of any issues to the research team.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Review and verify the data collected by field teams, ensuring quality control and adherence to ethical guidelines.
  • Facilitate daily debriefing sessions with data collectors after each day of fieldwork to discuss observations, challenges, and preliminary findings.
  • Review and check transcriptions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they reflect the original data collected.
  • Coordinate logistics, including scheduling interviews, discussions, and meetings, and managing participant communication.
  • Ensure proper handling and safeguarding of sensitive data, including secure storage and transportation of collected information.
  • Compile field reports and provide regular updates to the research team.
  • Ensure field teams comply with all safety, ethical, and operational protocols throughout the project.
  • Job location: Dhaka but field travel (80%) during data collection is required. . (Baradhul Char at Belkuchi Upazila of Sirajganj District, Nikli Haor of Kishoreganj District & Slum area of Dhaka City where climate affected people take refuge
  • Timeline: The position is available immediately and the initial contract will be for up to 6 months.
