Desirable- M.Sc. in Nursing or Masters in Public health

–        Working experience in ER, OT, Pediatric or PICU

·       Essential English language, Chittagonian Dialects is desirable

Responsibilities & Context

· Carry out the functions and tasks associated to his/her specialization as a role model, i.e. perform as a nurse, Nurse -anesthetist, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.

· Implement all the protocols and IPC procedures, and supervises his/her team to follow the MSF standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her specialization.

· Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.) to ensure adequate HR coverage.

· Assess, plan, deliver, track and evaluate the ongoing learning and development needs of staff in collaboration with nurse management team to ensure adequate staff competency to meet patient needs and MSF standard quality of care levels.

·Support the staff in capacity building by providing/encouraging training, on the job teaching, demonstration, performance evaluation, PIP. Establish objectives, provide regular feedback and evaluate staff performance.

· Carry out and/or supervise the decentralized pharmacy and medical equipment management in his or her with efficiency and effectiveness.

· Completes and/or coordinate patient care administration (exit, transfer/referral documents, etc.), reviews patient care information and collects data and submits data and analysis (as requested) on a regular schedule, in order to contribute to reliable project planning.

· Provide feedback/ reports to medical focal point.

· Contribute to the overall assessment, evaluation and planning of the project as directed by the Head Nurse and NAM.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

· Position requires to be present in the departments for the majority of the tasks focusing on complete clinical care to support staffs in the field e.g. assist clinical nursing care whenever necessary.

· Ensure quality nursing care throughout the whole hospital by providing addequate support and follow up.

· Make sure the team & department is ready to carry out all the night shift responsibilities before leave the hospital by doing a proper management and by doing a good coordination and collaboration with all departments in the hospital.

· Ensure that health education and patient orientation done properly in the departments in collaboartion with health promotion and any other teams.

· Perform the additional reponsibilities in absence of other departmental supervisors.

· Plan, organize and lead departmental meetings with each separate group and share the challenges with possible solution on a regular basis.

· Ensure all the request for log, pharma, stationary or printing order for the deparments is done within the timeframe.

· Followup on the regular 24 hour medicine/Emergency request stock inventory done by nurses to ensure necessary medications are available in the department.

· Prepare MMR for the department, identify medical incidences, near misses and report via MIR, analyze, follow up on the improvement plan.

· Participate in improvement plans/assessments as MSFAT, SIPCA or others.

· Ensure nutritional support (regular distribution of food and malnutrition milk/meals) for the departmental patients.

· Ensure collaboration with department responsible NAMs, MAMs and International staff to follow up on patients’ treatment during wardrounds, patient filing, investigations etc.

· Ensure collaboration with IPC supervisor and Manager and ensure daily follow up of IPC during procedures and nursing care.

· Ensure monthly nursing audits are initiated and followed up on like vital sign audit, PIVC monitoring, SOP checklists etc.

·Collaboration with hospital log team, ensure proper usage and cleaning of biomedical devices.

· Ensure proper use of all hospital equipment and coordinate with NAM if any materials damaged or need to newly purchase.

· Ensure with MD’s/Nurses that patients are informed about their illness and treatment plan.

· Prepare rosters, annual leave overview, and data collection/harmonize with data team.

· To ensure that the departmental narcotic drugs are maintained with proper documentation, expired items are returned on timely and overstock are early notified to NAM/Pharmacy manager and MCP medication boxes are updated whenever necessary.

· Follow-up the lab specimens delivered on time, check the AMR box and ensure the lab result by close collaboration with Lab manager & Supervisor.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Permanent contract. Salary according to level 08 (eight) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 95000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.

There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
