  • Experience with detailed case management systems and reintegration services for human trafficking survivors, or vulnerable and at-risk groups.
  • Experience with the detailed documentation of providing social and economic support-services to trafficking survivors or vulnerable and at-risk groups, and detailed reporting mechanisms;
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and sensitivity to support vulnerable and at-risk groups, and communities;
  • Strong understanding of gender and diversity issues;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills; and
  • Basic computer proficiency: i.e. MS Office, database management, coordination via email, project-specific management information systems, etc.

Responsibilities & Context

Location of Posting: Cox’s Bazar (With extensive field visits as required)

Contract Duration: Initially for 01 Year with possibility of further extension depending on the performance and funding availability.

Reports To: Project Manager, Ashshash Project, PROTTYASHI.

Project Background:

Winrock International – Ashshash (Phase–II), is funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh. The main objective of the project is to ensure that “women and men who have escaped trafficking will restore their dignity and wellbeing and become self-sufficient”. The survivors will be provided psychosocial counseling support along with other social services and facilitated opportunities for skills-devolvement and entrepreneurship training. Upon completion of the training survivors will be placed in either wage-based and or self-employment. Furthermore, Ashshash will reach people in the project’s working areas; either directly or indirectly, through awareness-raising activities on factors that make people vulnerable to human trafficking, and to ensure the prevention of human trafficking. The four-year-long second phase of Ashshash will provide comprehensive and personalized packages of service-provision to the survivors of human trafficking in Bangladesh.

Prottyashi as an implementing partner will be responsible to implement the project in Cox’s Bazar District with the technical support of Winrock International through forming a project implementation team. Prottyashi will be implementing the project being responsible to timely implementation of the project interventions through mobilizing its human resources and utilizing its local expertise. To implement the project, Prottyashi is seeking suitable candidates for 1 Case Manager-Social Services position to accomplish the below stated responsibilities:

Position Summary:

Case Managers (CMs)-Social Service will work under the direct oversight of Ashshash’s Sustainable Reintegration Partners (SRPs) across the relevant working districts of the project. The CM-Social Services will be responsible for ensuring social services identification, need assessment, psychosocial counselling, healthcare, and legal services etc. CM will lead the case management process for the survivors. Each CM-Social Services will assess the contextual needs and demands of each survivor following WI guideline and based on that they will ensure support services directly from project and through referral. CM-Social Protection will support the economic empowerment process including career-counselling, skills training, employment, and follow-up. Accordingly, the CM will establish a network and collaboration with local public and private service providers to ensure wide-range of social services for each survivor.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide need-based social protection services for the survivors of Ashshash project following project modality, principles, and guideline.
  • Conduct thorough ‘Needs-Assessment’ to identify the types of social services contextually required by the survivors.
  • Support to identify and map the public and private service-providers within the working areas, to avail the relevant social and economic support-services for the survivors, directly or indirectly.
  • Establish a strong referral network within the working areas, with the public and private service providers.
  • Support psychosocial counselling services in collaboration with psychosocial counsellors and ensure trauma counselling services through referral.
  • Support Ashshash’s SRP-Prottyashi and Career Counselors with ongoing counseling services to motivate and develop socioeconomic pathways of successful reintegration.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity towards the survivor’s trafficking contexts, gender-specific issues, and residual trauma, when communicating with the survivors.
  • Maintain working relationship with activists, youth and peer groups, community-based organizations (CBOs), and community leaders, within the working areas, to effectively identify survivors, and work to ensure their sustainable reintegration;
  • Demonstrate the ability to uphold Winrock International and Prottyashi’s ‘Code of Conduct’ and ‘Do No Harm’ policy, whilst working directly with the survivors to ensure their successful reintegration;
  • Demonstrate the ability to uphold confidentiality of information when working with each survivor;
  • Ability to maintain detailed case-systems for each survivor (i.e. case studies) to make and publish reports, and support the Prottyashi program teams with prompt assessment of survivors’ contexts;
  • Provide support to ensure baseline, mid-line, and final evaluations are conducted accurately, considering Winrock International’s and the donor’s requirements; and
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Per month Gross Salary BDT 32,000 with contribution provident fund+ monthly Bonus provision BDT 2,666 = 34,666/-
