Additional Requirements
3+ years of experience in the design and development of lithium-ion battery packs or similar energy storage systems.
Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery chemistry, cell characteristics, and battery pack design principles.
Proficiency in electrical, thermal, and mechanical modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, ANSYS, CAD).
Hands-on experience with battery (Lithium, Lead Acid, Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), Alkaline Batteries) testing and validation procedures.
Familiarity with battery management systems, cell balancing, and thermal management techniques.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in the electric vehicle or energy storage industry.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to lithium-ion battery safety (e.g., UN38.3, UL1973, IEC 62133).
Proficiency in programming and software development (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW).
Responsibilities & Context
Design and develop lithium-ion battery packs, including cell selection, pack architecture, thermal management, and battery management system (BMS) integration.
Perform electrical, mechanical, and thermal modeling and simulation to optimize battery pack performance, safety, and reliability.
Conduct extensive testing, including abuse testing, to validate the performance and safety of battery packs.
Develop and implement quality control and manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality.
Collaborate with R&D, procurement, and production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and safety standards related to lithium-ion battery technology.
Document all design decisions, test results, and project activities in a clear and organized manner.
