Alokito Hridoy School (AHS) runs under the foundation. It serves as a laboratory to test, curate and iterate equitable, quality teaching-learning approaches that can be scaled nationwide to develop enlightened generations of tomorrow.
Alokito Teachers (AT) is a teacher development platform that supports, nurtures, and empowers teachers as compassionate leaders and lifelong learners. Based on evidence from the lab school, we equip teachers for engaging, game, and activity-based learning.
Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
- Develop and adapt curricula to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning.
- Strong understanding of the curriculum
- Instruction and Classroom Management
- Deliver clear and effective instructions on various aspects of English, including grammar, writing, reading, comprehension and literature
- Manage classroom dynamics to create a positive learning environment.
- Employ differentiated instruction strategies to accommodate students with varying learning styles and abilities.
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Create, administer, and grade assessments such as quizzes, tests, essays, and presentations.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
- Track and report student progress to parents, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Student Engagement and Support
- Foster a love for reading and writing through creative assignments and discussions.
- Encourage students to think critically and express their ideas clearly.
- Offer extra help sessions and support for struggling students.
- Professional Development
- Stay updated on the latest educational research and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in professional development workshops, conferences, and seminars.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching strategies.
- Lead and support the colleagues and fellow teachers in their professional development
- Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to support student learning.
- Participate in school meetings, events, and committees.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data.
- Prepare progress reports and other documentation required by the school administration.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and educational standards.
- Classroom Environment
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
- Decorate the classroom with relevant educational materials to reinforce learning.
- Address and manage any behavioural issues in a professional and effective manner.
- Working hours: 8am – 4pm
- Working days: Sunday – Thursday
