  • Preference will be given to person with experience in managing hospital or health projects.

  • Experience in community health is an added qualification.

  • Ex-defense service personnel (commissioned) with relevant qualification and experience may also be considered.

  • Good command in English and Bangla.

  • Good computer literacy.

  • Believes in teamwork.

  • Conceptually sound and creative in development planning.

  • Attitude to work in remote riverine areas without family.

  • Confidence to act in an emergency situation.

  • Capable of maintaining public relations with the local government authorities, influential community leaders and media.

  • Sound knowledge about hospital equipment maintenance.

Job Location

  • IMPACT “Jibon Tari” Floating Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

  • In consultation with all staff-members of “Jibon Tari” and under the guidance of the Director Programme and the CEO, design and plan all detailed activities of the boat hospital project as outlined in the approved project proposal.

  • Assign duties/responsibilities and supervise all staff of the “Jibon Tari” hospital project and ensure their efficient and effective functioning.

  • In consultation with relevant medical staff members and Director Programme, procure medicines, medical accessories and equipment, and other hospital supplies in time for the smooth Operation of the hospital.

  • Ensure proper, regular and timely repair, renovation, and maintenance of all hospital equipment (including medical equipment), furniture, fittings, and other movable/immovable assets of the hospital.

  • Assess the training needs of the hospital staff (including medical staff in consultation with the Director Programme and arrange for training with approval and assistance from the CEO.

  • Plan and conduct necessary publicity through the local/national media and other means in each project and ensure that local community people, particularly women, are informed about the services of the hospital in advance.

  • Organize and hold meetings with community leaders and local government officials, including medical professionals, in each project site to ensure their support for the projects.

  • In consultation with the Director Programme propose the CEO about the requirement of volunteer doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals from and prepare their Terms of Reference; and make appropriate arrangements for their smooth functioning once they are available.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual project reports and statements of all expenditure, prepare the annual budget and other financial reports and documents with support from concerned staff members.

  • Oversee all day-to-day project activities and financial transactions.

  • Study in advance the river routes and the mooring sites for smooth and safe navigation, travel and mooring of the boat hospital at new sites. Should consult and seek advice from the appropriate authorities and technical experts in this regard.

  • Make appropriate arrangements for the hiring of Tug Boat from Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and/or private shipping organizations for movement to different sites.
