Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 50 years
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Community/Social mobilization; NGO; project cycle, management; developing work plans/reports for donor-supported projects in humanitarian and/or development settings.
  • A sound understanding of gender and gender-based violence in the Bangladesh/ Rohingya Camp context, as well as a good understanding of the stakeholder landscape at the local level·
  • Experience with community mobilization and related training facilitation skills including preparing and cascading workshops and campaigns.
  • Rich experience in supervisor/coordinator roles and working in a team.

Skill:

  • Excellent spoken and written English and Bengali·
  • Report writing skills, skills in documenting best practices, success stories, and case studies.
  • Have a solid understanding of GBViE and processes as well as strategic thinking.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills with relevant GoB, donors, and various stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide training to the field staff GBV and SASA! Together and social mobilization approach.·
  • Ability to work in a team with a flexible mindset and must be result-oriented.·
  • Excellent in MS Office application, internet and e-mail.·
  • Ability to undertake frequent field visits.

Responsibilities & Context

Mukti Cox’s Bazar is seeking a qualified and committed individual to join its team as a Social Mobilization Coordinator for Gender-Based Violence in Emergency intervention in forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals and the surrounding host community. S/he will Plan, assess, and identify concerns and challenges related to social mobilization for GBViE, design technical solutions implement, and monitor planned GBViE activities. Social mobilization Coordinator will report every week to the program manager and overall guidance and coordination from another technical team Mukti Cox’s Bazar. S/he will supervise and mentor Social Mobilization Supervisors and provide technical support and guidance for social mobilizers. S/he will work in close partnership and coordination with Raising Voices SASA! Together technical assistant, SASA! Together cohort members and SASA! Together core team.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

1.    Major Activities/Expected Result

  • In close collaboration with the Program manager s/he will ensure quality implementation of SASA! Together strategies and corresponding Activities-Local Activism-Community Leadership and Institutional allies.

  • Provide consistent technical and supportive supervision for social mobilization supervisors, social mobilizers, local activists, community leaders, and institutional allies.

  • In collaboration with SASA! Together with staff, s/he will identify capacity development needs and design appropriate capacity development plans.

  • Ensure availability of quality GBViE information through collecting, analyzing, and generating evidence-based responses to prevent and address gender-based violence in emergencies, in host and camp settings.

  • Provide technical support to the Mukti Cox’s Bazar staff to prepare annual work plans, implement project activities, develop locally customized reporting formats, and monitor and report back on activities.

  • Supports SASA! Together staff identify challenges and gaps at grass roots level, empower and enhance their capacity through training, coaching mentoring, and tracking of the changes at the individual, community, and institutional levels.

  • Ensure all SASA! Together Learning and assessment tools are used appropriately and recorded on a timely basis.

  • Assist in the implementation of GBViE prevention activities monitor follow-up and document best practices and human stories on community mobilization in promoting gender equality and empowerment of women and girls and in engaging men and boys to address GBV prevention and response.
  • Ensure that SASA! Together tool kits are used as per the MoU for Technical assistance made between Raising Voice and SASA! Together Cohort members

  • Establishes functional linkages with humanitarian actors and government line agencies working in gender, GBV prevention, and protection.

  • Assist project activities relating to the engagement of men and boys, documenting successful initiatives and adjusting activities as needed based on observations and lessons learned

  • Supports and coordinates research, assessments, and activities related to campaign, advocacy advocacy-related work.

  • Increased knowledge sharing, and coordination to ensure continued services in GBV response and prevention intervention.

  • Prepare and submit social mobilization- SASA! Together monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and year-end reports and achievements for MUKTI Cox’s Bazar, donors, and other government lines.

  • S/he will prepare reports of the community mobilization activities, and document success stories and best practices.

  • S/he will act as SASA! Together focal person on behalf of Mukti Cox’s Bazar and lead overall social mobilization activities.

  • Attend and provide valuable inputs in different humanitarian GBViE coordination mechanisms at all levels as needed.

  • Assist SASA! Together staff tracking changes made in each Phase at individual, community, and institutional strategies through SASA! Together learning and assessment tools.

2.    Communication, Advocacy, and Knowledge Management

  • Contributes adaptation and translation SASA! together tool kits as well as design and implement behavioral change communication campaigns by providing inputs to and implementing specific and targeted IEC/BCC interventions on social mobilization for GBViE.

  • Attends/coordinates with humanitarian coordination mechanisms to ensure effective coordination of partners on GBViE programming at all.

  • Maintains productive and professional relations with all program and operational partners.

3.    Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Provides input to the SASA! Together learning and assessment monitoring, supervision tools and guidelines, and support in the collection and compilation of the process documentation.

  • Supports MCB staff in the use of the joint facilitative supervision and monitoring plan in line with social mobilization for GBViE objectives.

  • Supports MCB SASA! Together staff in the development of a monitoring checklist and tools and its implementation.

  • Shares monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual monitoring reports to the concerned body.

  • Analyzes trends and recommends appropriate actions for improved effectiveness of the SASA! Together program;

4.    Staff Development

  • Undertake staff development training as part of the related project activities and undertake orientation, discussion sessions, etc.

  • Ensure that the staff are well aware of all the policies and follow those in dealing with colleagues and project participants.

 5. Safeguarding and PSEA:

  • To meet the program’s objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
