  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and grant compliance.
  • Knowledge of the specific field or sector related to the project (e.g., education, healthcare, environment).
  • Ability to think strategically, develop innovative solutions, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. 

Responsibilities & Context

Position Overview: 

The ideal candidate for the Executive Director role should possess visionary leadership skills, a proven track record of strategic decision-making, and a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and goals. The Executive Director will work in close consultation with the Co-Founders, Governing Board and Advisor to provide overall leadership and direction to The Earth. He/she will collaborate with the community, employees, volunteers and partners will be crucial for successful implementation. The Executive Director will lead efforts to enhance the organization’s knowledge, infrastructure, culture, and competencies, aiming to establish it as a respected entity at home and abroad. 

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and oversee the successful implementation of the project(s). He/she will be responsible for managing all aspects of The Earth’s affairs & activities, including planning, implementation, fund acquisition and raising, budgeting, and evaluation. This role requires a strong commitment to the organization’s mission, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop the strategic plan in accordance with the vision and mission of The Earth.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Oversee all aspects of the project, including resource allocation, timeline management, and budget control.
  • Provide guidance and support to project staff, ensuring effective teamwork, clear communication, and the achievement of project milestones.
  • Identify funding opportunities, develop grant proposals, and secure resources to support the project’s implementation. Manage grants effectively, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. (Provide vision and leadership for strengthening partnerships and securing substantial funding from institutional donors, governments, foundations and other sources.)
  • Establish mechanisms to track project progress, collect data, and measure outcomes.
  • Regularly assess the project’s effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to ensure its success.
  • Represent the organization and the project at relevant forums, conferences, and events. Advocate for the project’s goals and create awareness of its impact through effective communication strategies.
  • Oversee the project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial accountability in coordination with the Finance and Admin Manager. (Oversee the management of financial and human resources, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of integrity and transparency of The Earth.)
  • Comprehensive reports on project activities, outcomes, and financial status for internal and external stakeholders and report to the Chairman/Vice Chairman/Advisor. (Ensure accountability to and communications with the Governing Board including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Advisor through effective reporting and communications and support the Board to make informed and timely decisions.)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies under the guidance of concerned Board Members.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stockholders, community members, partner organizations, donors, government and private institution to foster collaboration and maximize project impact.
