Additional Requirements
Preference will be given who has experience working in WASH project (Gravity Flow System, water filter business & marketing and sanitation) in Rangamati.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in community development, WASH, or women’s economic empowerment projects.
Experience working in the Chittagong Hill Tracts in particularly Rangamati with diverse cultural contexts is preferred.
Proven experience in coordinating with government institutions, private sector actors, and community groups.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
Experience in project implementation, data collection, and reporting.
Proficiency in both Bengali and English, with knowledge of local languages in the Chittagong Hill Tracts being an asset.

Responsibilities & Context
Job Purpose:
The “Stepping Up WASH Phase 2” project, implemented by United Purpose, focuses on supporting water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) efforts in the Rangamati District. The project builds on United Purpose’s established WASH management system and aims to continue supporting Women Business Centres (WBCs) and implement innovative financing mechanisms for upland water management in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). The one of the major objectives include establishing market-based approaches for WASH, sustaining WBCs, and coordinating with local government institutions (LGIs) and the private sector for evidence generation and advocacy.The WBC Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the Program Manager in the successful implementation of the Stepping Up WASH Phase 2 project in Rangamati District. This includes working closely with WBC members, Narijhuri Network, water user groups, private sector stakeholders, and LGIs to establish coordination, generate evidence, and advocate for project replication.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Implementation Support:
Assist the Program Manager in planning, coordinating, and implementing all project activities related to the Stepping Up WASH Phase 2 project.
Work closely with WBC members, Narijhuri Outlet and network, Latrine production entrepreneurs to ensure smooth operation of the Women Business Centres and support their integration with WASH initiatives.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Establish and maintain relationships with water user groups, private sector entities, and LGIs in the Rangamati District and Barkal Upazila.
Facilitate collaboration between WBC members, local stakeholders, and the project team to ensure alignment of activities.
Ensure effective communication and coordination with other stakeholders, including community leaders, relevant NGOs, and government departments.
Market-Based WASH Approach:
Support the establishment of WASH market-based approaches in the Barkal Upazila and Rangamati District.
Identify and engage with private sector actors to foster innovative financing for upland water management and sustainable WASH systems.
Evidence Creation and Reporting:
Assist in gathering, documenting, and organizing data and evidence related to project activities, including WASH interventions, water schemes, and WBC operations.
Prepare regular reports on project progress, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring accurate and timely submission to the Program Manager.
Capacity Building and Training:
Provide training and capacity-building support to WBC members, water user groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
Assist in the development and delivery of training sessions on market-based WASH approaches, WBC operations, and water management best practices.
Advocacy and Replication:
Support advocacy efforts aimed at promoting the replication of successful WASH models and interventions in other areas of the Rangamati District and beyond.
Assist in organizing advocacy events, workshops, and meetings with key stakeholders to raise awareness about the project’s achievements and impacts.
