Responsibilities & Context
Job Context:
Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries is going to establish a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery having a production capacity of 1.5 million MT per annum. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. We are encouraging competent and experienced professionals to apply for the position of AGM/DGM- Mechanical, SMS Plant/Rolling Mill. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical aspects of the plant’s operations, ensuring optimal machinery performance, maintenance, and mechanical integrity of all equipment involved in the steel and re-rolling process. The incumbent will work closely with other senior management to ensure smooth production while adhering to safety, quality, and operational efficiency standards.
Job Responsibilities:

Supervise the installation and commissioning of new machinery, equipment, and plant infrastructure.

Work with external contractors and suppliers to ensure proper setup and integration of mechanical systems.

Evaluate the performance of newly installed machines and systems, ensuring they meet production and quality requirements.

Oversee all mechanical maintenance activities for machinery and equipment used in steel production and re-rolling processes.

Ensure that all machines (e.g., rolling mills, conveyors, cutting machines) are operating at optimal efficiency and performance.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

Supervise and troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and power systems.

Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.

Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high skill levels and adherence to safety protocols.

Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure the mechanical systems are aligned with production schedules and targets.

Monitor the overall mechanical health of the plant and proactively address any risks that could lead to failures or delays in production.

Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in mechanical engineering to incorporate modern practices in the plant.

Ensure that all mechanical operations are conducted in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Lead to work with the vendors for equipment downtime, maintenance costs, and machine efficiency.

Maintain detailed records of mechanical maintenance, repairs, and inspections for audit purposes.

Work closely with the electrical, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.

Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on mechanical system performance, issues, and upcoming needs.
