Responsibilities & Context
Project Name Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development for Accessing Safe-water (WEEDAS)
Nazrul Smriti Sangsad (NSS) is a non-government Humanitarian Organization working for advancement of poor women, men, children, youths, excluded people, person with disability and minority groups since 2000. It is a non-profitable, non-political, child and gender sensitive organization. It always values all diversified people without discriminating religions, casts, creeds and suppresses all sorts of discrimination with ethnic and minority people. It also values class and levels of team members as well as beneficiaries.
NSS is going to implement a sub-project titled “Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development for Accessing Safe-water” (in short WEEDAS) under the key project “Water Woman” which is funded by Oxfam in Bangladesh. The project will be implemented at Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali district as well as at Patharghata Upazila of Barguna district. Following this, NSS is searching a competent Project Manager who has excellent experience on safe drinking water management, women empowerment and entrepreneurship development or similar type of project. The Project Manager is responsible for daily oversight of the project activities including capacity building of the team members, rural women and steer the project towards achieving it results. He/She will lead the project team and coordinate with the wide range of stakeholders including the Govt. Officials of the project aligned Departments, Upazila Administration, Civil Society, LGIs and District level Govt. Officials as well as Oxfam in Bangladesh.
Major Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager (PM) will develop detailed implementation plan, implement project activities to achieve the objectives and results of the project.

Prepare project implementation guidelines (PIG) for implementing the project activities effectively and efficiently.

Lead the project team for successful implementation of the project activities following the project agreement and agreed work plan.

Prepare training module, schedule and session plans for training.
-
Organize monthly meeting with all staff and review the progress and provide support to overcome the gaps.
-
Organize training and orientation to develop capacity of the team members and youths for excellent implementation of the project activities to achieve the best results of the project.

Conduct needs assessment of the team members and take initiative to improve the capacity of gaps considering the planning matrix.

Develop capacity of the women on different issues as per need as well as on micro level project proposal development.
-
Monitor the progress of the project on regular basis with at least 70% time in field visit and supervise the project team in supportive manner and avoid micromanagement.

Maintain communication and liaison with Government’s departments, NGOs, Civil Society Actors and Media.

Maintain relationship with LGIs, Upazila Administration, DPHE, PIO, and other relevant departments at Upazila and District level as per need.

Develop IEC materials, training modules, session plans, schedules, leaflets, brochures, factsheets, posters, booklets, flipcharts, audio-visual documents, and case / success stories.

Participate in the district and upazila level GO-NGO, coordination meetings at Upazila and District level and share the progress of the project with government and other stakeholders.

Capture good practices, case story, life stories, lesson learnt and success stories.

Review project proposal, budget and action plan of the project according to the context consulting with the Focal Person of Oxfam in Bangladesh as well as Executive Director of NSS.

Prepare monthly report and documentation on different activities and accumulate all data for ensuring quality and authenticity.

Share the project progress and learning with donor as well as other stakeholders for review and feedback to improve the areas.

Always get ready to facilitate the progress of the project with internal and external visitors.

Practice, promote and endorse PSEA policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Carryout administrative functions as desired by the project to meet the policy requirements of the organization and donor compliance. Assist the higher management in planning and decision making.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Salary: TK. 53,333 per month with other admissible benefits according to the project budget.
Job Location: Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali district and Patharghata Upazila of Barguna district.
