Strong understanding of theory of change, USAID programming, and M&E indicators, with a focus on corporate-NGO partnerships and private sector roles in social impact.

Proven ability in public-private partnerships, particularly in sectors like health, education, or sustainable development, along with strong fundraising skills from corporate sources.

Excellent communication skills in both Bangla and English, with experience in developing training modules and conducting workshops.

Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and capable of supervising staff in livelihoods and food security initiatives.

Job Purpose

Bangladesh America Maitree Project, awarded in October 2023 and expected to run for 5 years. The goal of the Maitree Project is to advance broad-based, inclusive, and more sustainable development through strong local partnerships that complement USAID/Bangladesh’s CDCS and development objectives. Under the Maitree Project,BRAC will establish a grant-making mechanism to provide funding to qualifying local recipients through a local, competitive process; increase the organizational capacity of recipient organizations to compete for grants and implement development interventions; and; build the capacity of local organizations to collaborate, build networks, and develop local solutions to development problems.

The Lead, Private Sector Engagement is responsible for advancing strategic initiatives and ensuring high-quality interventions related to private sector involvement in the Maitree Project. This role includes reviewing and supporting strategies from Maitree partners, as well as monitoring and evaluating their activities while participating in capacity-building efforts. The Lead will play a key role in developing essential planning tools such as the Theory of Change, Logical Framework, and Annual Work Plan, while also ensuring the integration of activities across various thematic areas. They will assess Expressions of Interest (EOI) and grant proposals to maximize project impact and provide strategic guidance on focus areas in response to evolving priorities. Furthermore, the Lead will foster connections with regional networks, government bodies, and research institutions, representing the program at forums and advocating for educational issues while promoting values of gender sensitivity and diversity.
Key Responsibilities

Recognize potential private sector partners aligning with the goals, geographic focus, and sectoral interventions of targeted NGOs and the Maitree project to analyze collaboration opportunities.

Introduce NGOs to private sector entities, fostering connections and relationships while providing support for partnership management and conflict resolution.

Execute partnership strategies to ensure mutually beneficial collaborations, overseeing due diligence processes to assess reputational risks and collaborating with the MEL team to track impact metrics.

Engage in reviewing Expressions of Interest (EOI) and grant proposals for partner selection, collaborating to enhance implementation plans and resolve technical gaps.

Create and oversee monitoring plans to assess partner progress and quality, ensuring budget guidelines align with targets and recommending actions to address implementation gaps.

Develop and deliver training programs for local organizations and private sector partners to enhance their understanding of USAID funding mechanisms and provide technical assistance in proposal development.

Organize workshops, webinars, and initiatives to strengthen institutional capabilities in areas like impact investment, supporting partners through joint field visits.

Participate in partner staff meetings to share insights, assess needs, and propose targeted capacity development actions for operational effectiveness.

Maintain networks for peer support, technical expertise, and sustainability, representing Maitree at national workshops to foster alliances and gather innovative ideas.

Support partner staff in creating internal and external networks for technical assistance and sustainability, representing the project at various levels, including the Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) and Grants Review Board (GRB).

Communicate with government departments, research organizations, and companies to secure support and services for program participants.

Generate bi-weekly and monthly reports, along with qualitative reports for Quarterly Progress Reports (QPR), Annual Reports (ARR), and donor-related success stories.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
