  • Media relations: Ability to establish and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to generate positive coverage.

  • Creative thinking: Ability to think outside the box and develop innovative ways to promote peace-building messages.

  • Design skills: Experience in creating visuals using design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) for social media and print materials.

  • Analytical skills: Strong understanding of digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.) to track campaign performance and make data-driven decisions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the social, political, and cultural context in Bangladesh is highly desirable.

  • Experience in peace-building, religious tolerance, or combating misinformation is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel to field locations as required.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: We are seeking a creative and skilled Communication Officer for a USAID funded project to lead our content development, media promotion, and digital marketing efforts. As part of our project aimed at fostering religious tolerance, combating misinformation, and promoting peaceful and inclusive communities in Bangladesh, the Communication Officer will play a vital role in amplifying our message through multiple platforms. This role involves content creation, media outreach, and managing our digital presence to engage and inspire diverse audiences.

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Writing:

  • Develop high-quality content, including articles, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and reports, to showcase the impact of our project activities.

  • Craft compelling narratives around the themes of peace-building, social cohesion, and combating misinformation, ensuring content aligns with organizational goals and values.

  • Work closely with the project team to document success stories, field activities, and testimonials from beneficiaries, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.

Media Promotion and Outreach:

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to enhance the visibility of the project in both local and national media.

  • Write and distribute press releases and manage media inquiries, ensuring the project gains positive and wide-reaching coverage.

  • Organize media campaigns around key project milestones, such as workshops, summits, or community events.

Digital Marketing and Social Media Management:

  • Manage and grow the project’s digital presence across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and the official website.

  • Create engaging social media posts, infographics, videos, and other digital content that promote project activities and foster online community engagement.

  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to reach target audiences, drive engagement, and increase the visibility of peace-building initiatives.

  • Monitor social media analytics to assess the impact of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.

Branding and Promotional Materials:

  • Ensure that all project-related communications adhere to the branding and guidelines of the organization and donors.

  • Design and produce promotional materials such as brochures, banners, flyers, and other visual content for online and offline events.

  • Coordinate the use of donor logos and maintain brand consistency across all communications channels.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities, preparing reports on media coverage, website traffic, social media engagement, and other key performance indicators.

  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving communication strategies based on data-driven results.
