Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certification on HR is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Proven experience as an HR leader within a diverse, dynamic organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Bangladesh labor laws and regulations.

Responsibilities & Context

  • ASA International is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing international microfinance banking institutions offering socially responsible loans to underbanked, low-income female micro-entrepreneurs in Asia and Africa (“ASA International” or the “Group”).   • We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Deputy Head of HR to join our team at ASA International in Bangladesh.
  • The role is critical to advancing HR initiatives that support the company’s overall objectives, enhance workplace culture, and ensure employee well-being and development with primary focus on the work force in or seconded from Bangladesh.
  • The Deputy Head of HR will be responsible for managing various HR functions in Bangladesh, driving talent management strategies, and supporting ASA International’s mission of social responsibility and impact in respect of the staff base in Dhaka as well as the expats seconded from Bangladesh.
  • ASA International has established a subsidiary in Dhaka Bangladesh with a [100]+ staff base to support the operations across its thirteen operating market. You will act as Deputy Head of HR in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives. Drive organizational culture, employee engagement, and talent retention initiatives.
  • Lead HR projects such as global HR software implementation, performance management, job grading (Function House), pay structures (Salary House), and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.
  • Lead the recruitment process, ensuring the acquisition of top-tier talent to meet business needs in Bangladesh.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Implement and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate the development of training programs. Ensure competitive and equitable pay structures and benefits to attract and retain talent.
  • Utilize HR analytics to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare regular HR reports for management review.
  • Stay abreast of labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
