Specialized experience in the WASH sector and skills development in national or International organization/s.
Demonstrating the Competency based training and assessment at the training venue and industry.
Preparing the reports, proposals, MoUs and other relevant document.
Good knowledge in implementing Skills development, RPL, apprenticeship, entrepreneurship, and WASH programs.
Working experience with Local Government Institutions and public representatives.
Have a clear understanding of Water Supply, Sanitation & Hygiene Promotion, ODF, sanitation business etc.
Good understanding of CLTS & SLTS approaches·
Excellent command of communication skills in both English and Bangla. Excellent computer operating skills and conversant with MS Office package.
Experience in the development field (especially in monitoring & evaluation of vocational education and training).
Communication with national and international donors to raise funds.
Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. Health and WASH Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 8 institutions and 17 projects. DAM Health and WASH Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of “Project Engineer” of the “Improving WASH for Rohingya Refugees” Project implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM)-UK . It’s a Ukhiya, Cox Bazar based position.

Job Description / Responsibility:

Overall Planning and Management:

Ensure WASH hardware activities as appropriate in the local context;
Prepare estimate, design and budget and support prepare programme budget;
Ensure properly implemented hardware.

Hardware Planning and Implementation:

Provide technical support at the field level in order to ensure proper implementation of WASH Technology;
Support to implement the project implementation plan monthly and quarterly basis.

Monitoring& Reporting:

Time to time visit the hardware site and provide technical support to Mason and the community to implement hardware activities smoothly;
Check the quality of hardware work using DAM hardware monitoring tool.

Liaison and Coordination:

Maintain and update hardware technologies current challenges and learning to project coordinator;
Maintain effective relations with respective GOs and GOs;
Be responsible for ensuring different types of WASH technologies are appropriate for the context.

Skill development and training:

Ensure capacity building of caretaker to maintain and smoothly function of hardware facilities;
Develop training materials on hardware facilities, maintaining and orienting project staff and community about hardware technologies and guidelines;
Computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications & AutoCAD;
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Assist in the documentation:

Assist the Head of WASH in writing progress reports;

Assist in writing project proposal.
