Responsibilities & Context

Responsible for:

  • Design and implement community health programs based on community needs assessments and data analysis.

  • Guide CHW supervisors for health promotion activities, workshops, and educational sessions to increase health awareness and literacy.

  • Ensuring the quality of all the community health services given and the maintenance of high standards throughout.

  • Assist the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager to meet contractual performance.

  • Strengthen, support and capacitate the staff.

  • Provide oversight and guidance for all projects and tasks ensuring that they are adequately staffed planned, and performance is within scope, time, and available budget.

  • Ensure capacity building of the team members, special focus on clients care issue, community engagement, and technical services.

  • Facilitate the procurement and delivery of emergency medical supplies and equipment and provide capacity building to relevant stakeholders. S/he will also assist in establishing relevant partnerships with other humanitarian stakeholders, NGOs, donors and government counterparts.

  • Oversees project implementation, establishing collaborative partnerships with executing agencies.

  • Manages team dynamics; ensures synergy and harmony with the team. Provides role clarity to all staff within the team by providing supportive supervision and ensuring accountability.

  • Participates in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts of the Country Office by ensuring preparation of relevant documentation, i.e. project summaries, conference papers, speeches, donor profiles, and participating in related donor meetings and public information events.  

Activities:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to community health trends and program effectiveness.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders to communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Support the DPM’s and PM’s efforts to maintain a positive organizational climate with the highest professional and ethical standards.

  • Support the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager in collaborating with camp level govt. officilas.

  • Oversee all technical, financial, and contractual, and performance requirements to bring about the successful completion of the project.

  • Work with the Deputy Program Manager in people management, development goals, efficiency, quality improvement, and financial management.

  • Provides positive response when team members report problems.

  • Promote a spirit of collegiality and gender diversity amongst team members and in the organization.

  • Encourage team members to collaborate across areas; Address and resolve any diversity related issues.

  • Set goals and conduct appraisals for the team; Set high standards and confront poor performance where needed. 

  • Take appropriate actions to manage poor performance (such as creating Performance Improvement Plans, coaching, job rotations, and planning separations) in order to build and develop an engaged and high-performing team.

  • Lead project/support staff teams independently throughout efforts.

  • Implement, monitor and coordinate/supervise program planning evaluating quality assurance in community setting project.

  • Create a work plan (allocation of locations and duties) for the implementation of the intervention project;

  • Monitor and ensure quality of services at the field level;

  • Any other task as and when required by the Program Manager.    

Skill and Competencies: 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors and Masters in Sociology/AnthopologyNutrition/public health any other relevant field.Experience Requirements.

  • Minimum experience of 3-5 years with NGOs, UN agency or international development organization and out of at least 2 years’ experience in experience in community health outreach project or Programme.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current national and global development trends related to women empowerment, gender and justice, legal aid, rights-based approach, access to information; SDGs.

  • Sound knowledge and understanding Project cycle management, results-based management and rights-based approach.
