Responsibilities & Context

Co-Founder and Director of Business Development JOB Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Define and shape the company’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
  • Identify market opportunities, assess risks, and develop strategies for sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with co-founders and stakeholders to make critical business decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and competitors’ activities.

2. Business Development and Expansion

  • Drive the development and execution of strategies to acquire new customers and expand into new markets.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances.
  • Identify and secure investment opportunities, grants, or funding to support growth initiatives.
  • Develop scalable business models tailored to the company’s growth trajectory.

3. Sales and Revenue Growth

  • Set revenue targets and develop plans to meet or exceed them.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation and conversion.
  • Build and lead high-performing sales teams, providing mentorship and resources.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts and deals.

4. Relationship Management

  • Act as the face of the company, fostering relationships with investors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a strong professional network to enhance business visibility and opportunities.
  • Handle customer relations to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

5. Product/Service Development

  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, marketing) to ensure the product or service meets market demands.
  • Incorporate customer feedback into product or service enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

6. Marketing and Branding

  • Oversee the development of marketing strategies to build brand recognition and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, public relations efforts, and digital marketing.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.

7. Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
  • Work closely with the finance team to monitor cash flow and operational costs.
  • Present financial performance and projections to investors and stakeholders.

  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent to build a strong and cohesive team.
