Responsibilities & Context
Co-Founder and Director of Business Development JOB Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define and shape the company’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Identify market opportunities, assess risks, and develop strategies for sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with co-founders and stakeholders to make critical business decisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and competitors’ activities.
2. Business Development and Expansion
- Drive the development and execution of strategies to acquire new customers and expand into new markets.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances.
- Identify and secure investment opportunities, grants, or funding to support growth initiatives.
- Develop scalable business models tailored to the company’s growth trajectory.
3. Sales and Revenue Growth
- Set revenue targets and develop plans to meet or exceed them.
- Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation and conversion.
- Build and lead high-performing sales teams, providing mentorship and resources.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts and deals.
4. Relationship Management
- Act as the face of the company, fostering relationships with investors, clients, and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain a strong professional network to enhance business visibility and opportunities.
- Handle customer relations to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
5. Product/Service Development
- Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, marketing) to ensure the product or service meets market demands.
- Incorporate customer feedback into product or service enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
6. Marketing and Branding
- Oversee the development of marketing strategies to build brand recognition and loyalty.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, public relations efforts, and digital marketing.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.
7. Financial Oversight
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
- Work closely with the finance team to monitor cash flow and operational costs.
- Present financial performance and projections to investors and stakeholders.
8. Team Building and Culture Development
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent to build a strong and cohesive team.
- Foster an entrepreneurial culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
9. Operational Excellence
- Establish operational processes and workflows for efficiency and scalability.
