Requirements

Education

Advanced university degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the areas: Nutrition and food science, Development studies, Public Health and Nutrition or any other relevant degree from any recognized university

Experience

• Age at most 45 years

• The candidate should have at least three (03) years’ experience of which at least two (02) years in a supervisory position of WASH specialist/manager in any international /or reputed national NGO.
• Specialization: Experience should cover Market system development approach, Nutrition & WASH, improved sanitation solution for rural area, child and mother nutrition, generational WASH behavior, nutritional epidemiology, etc.
• Must have work experience in implementing sanitation interventions by strengthening technical and marketing skills of LPs and masons
• Must have experience in implementing project/organization’s WASH related activities involving DPHE and WAH product marketing companies
• Work experience in rural and coastal contexts.
• Work experience with an integrated approach like WASH-Nutrition Nexus. Work experience in social franchising.
• Behavioral flexibility and emotionally intelligent with strong logical and analytical skills
• Ability to coach and mentor multi-sectorial partners
• Ability to manage stress
• Familiarity with USAID or other international organizations’ approach to improve nutritional outcomes; through WASH interventions
• Good understanding of development and nutritional issues in Bangladesh;
• Team building and interpersonal skills
• Computer application skills including MS Office
• Good oral and written English language skills
• Motor bike driving skills with a valid driving license.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of the entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. The health & WASH Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 8 institutions and 16 projects. DAM Health & WASH Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of wash Field Facilitator of its “USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activities” (BNA) Project, based in Jhalokathi District.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibility:

• Ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
• Ensure quality implementation of the monthly action plan.
• Supervise and support Field Facilitators to carry out activities related to capacity building of Latrine Producer, Mason and WASH market actors
• Interventions design to address supply and demand side market constraints of the WASH market systems.
• Work inclusively to increase the adoption of improved sanitation and hygiene behaviors in the Project Area
• Ensure close coordination and collaboration with Upazilla/District level government and private sector stakeholders (i.e. Upazila/District Administration, DPHE, RFL, LIXIL etc.)
• Coordinate, negotiate, cooperate and maintain a good relation with team members both in organizations and alliances.
• Provide assistance and technical support to Field Facilitators for routine program implementation.
• Assist Project Manager, Technical Field Coordinator and Abt MEL Coordinator in developing systematic and realistic action plans to capture project lines on WASH
• Regular monitoring visits with WASH Field Facilitators in Market Centers and Communities.
• Be focal of 4-5 upazila as assigned by the project management for regular communication and sharing of information, best practice documentation, etc. with the local level stakeholders like UNO, UH&FPO, LGED, DAE Health, DPHE, DOF, DLS DWA and other relevant government department and INGOs/NGOs;
• Attend formal and informal meetings at Upazilla and district level.
• Plan, organize and facilitate training program including training needs assessments (TNA)
• Develop and review training curriculums, session guide and training materials.
• Prepare all kinds of reports and meeting minutes and submit to the PM on time
• Secondary responsibility:
• Ensure documentation of specific work, develop Upazila wise progress report and ensure submission to Project Manager and team on monthly basis.
• Support Project Manager in preparing quarterly, half yearly, annual and any other reports per required of the project management.
• Support and backstopping to improve Field Facilitators’ facilitation and technical skills in facilitating WASH related events
• Ensure qualitative data collection and assessment as per program requirements.
• Undertake supportive supervision visits to provide on-the-job training to project staff.
• Perform other duties as and when necessary/needed or assigned by the project management
• Develop leaflet, posted, hand bills, banner, festoon and digital nudes
