Responsibilities & Context

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Technical Officer, Livelihood and Market Development will play a pivotal role in enhancing community well-being, and achieving HICRA’s objective of improving livelihoods. The Technical Officer, Livelihood and Market Development is responsible to ensure effective implementation of the HICRA Livelihood activities within his/her designated areas including helping extremely poor and poor participants engage in Income Generating Activities (IGA), participate in Enhanced Homestead Food production (EHFP), and/or produce and sell High Value Commodities (HVC). S/he will also facilitate access to markets, financial services, input provision and other private and public sector services as part of assisting HICRA’s poor and extreme poor families become more resilient. The Technical Officer, Livelihood and Market Development will serve as the primary field contact for livelihood and market development under Result 1 of HICRA: Income generating opportunities expanded. The candidate will provide field-level supervision to maintain technical integrity, including providing technical supervisory support for field facilitators (FFs), assisting FFs to communicate and train participants, provide direct training and technical assistance to higher-level market actors and engaging in coaching, mentoring and troubleshooting. This position will coordinate and collaborate with district, upazila and union level team members and external local stakeholders, and support reporting, achieving targets, providing actionable insights for program improvement, and enhancing accountability.
