- Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office. Experience with Slack, Salesforce or other collaboration platforms.
- At least 4 years’ experience in grants and contracts with the US government and other donors.

Job Purpose
We are looking for an individual to join as Deputy Manager, Grants and Compliance, who will play a key role in supporting regional partners and ensuring the full cycle of Maitree’s sub-grantee management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with BRAC’s accounting and grant management policies, as well as USAID’s requirements. This role will involve maintaining accurate, complete, and reliable information in Maitree’s award and financial systems. The Deputy Manager will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify compliance challenges and escalate issues to leadership when necessary. Reporting directly to Maitree’s Senior Manager, Grants and Compliance, the candidate will drive award compliance and support seamless sub-grantee operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Maitree Project staff by managing incoming award documentation, processing sub-award documentation, executing award amendments, coordinating award closeouts, and preparing donor reports through structured collaboration and adherence to project guidelines.
- Conduct due diligence and support the enlistment of sub-grantees by working closely with the Grants and Compliance team to ensure partner eligibility and compliance.
- Assist Maitree Project staff in continuous monitoring of sub-grantees by verifying agreement and contractual compliance, ensuring expenses are allowable, allocable, and reasonable, and aligning with donor requirements such as 2 CFR 200, FAR, and AIDAR.
- Perform regular risk-based grants compliance visits to sub-grantees by utilizing a grants monitoring checklist, identifying potential risks, preparing detailed reports for management, and proposing risk mitigation strategies and support plans.
- Participate in periodic grant review meetings with Maitree Project colleagues by addressing identified issues, proposing solutions, and ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Provide onsite coaching to partnering NGOs and sub-grantees by conducting quarterly review meetings, sharing feedback, and delivering tailored capacity-building sessions.
- Engage with local-level stakeholders by representing the Maitree Project at various networks and forums to promote the project’s objectives and build strategic partnerships.
- Support the MEL team in sub-award monitoring by contributing to data collection, reporting, and ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
