Requirements

Education

MSc/ master’s degree in Disaster Management, Environmental Science and Management, Urban and Rural Development, Development Studies, or other relevant subjects preferred.

Experience

  • At least 7 years

Additional Requirements

  • At least 07 years of relevant experience on DRR and relevant field programming.
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated experience developing, mentoring, and managing
  • A record of successful performance on USAID-funded
  • Proven experience with strategic planning, management, and design of resilience-focused programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with activity stakeholders: donors, partners, local government institutions, local communities and vulnerable groups, etc.
  • Excellent in-depth understanding of DRR and climate change in the context in Cox’s Bazar and
  • High level of numeracy and understanding of financial controls and
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in applying USAID policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong working familiarity with USAID requirements, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience in facilitating and supporting programmatic decision-making, adaptive management, and learning.

Responsibilities & Context

About the Role

The Technical Lead – DRR provides the regional leadership and oversight for DRR interventions within the HICRA program in adherence to donor (USAID) regulations. This role focuses on leading a team in identifying disaster risks, developing preparedness plans, and strengthening the capacity of local stakeholders in Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts districts. The post holder’s responsibilities encompass successful programme implementation, managing program budgets, ensuring quality, conducting capacity building for HICRA DRR staff, and contributing to MEL activities. The role-holder is expected to have a thorough understanding of the DRR needs of the Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts region. The role-holder will guide the implementation of the DRR related activities and monitoring and advice the DCOP periodically

Compensation & Other Benefits

Annual Salary: BDT 1,820,784.00 -1,951,090.00 gross per annum + medical reimbursement, provident fund, life and medical insurance.
