Job Context:

  • Job Summary: The Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB), established in 1973, is dedicated to creating a just and inclusive society by empowering marginalized communities through sustainable development initiatives. Operating across 28 districts, CCDB has reached over 100,000 households, focusing on women, ethnic communities, and youth. A cornerstone of CCDB’s efforts is its Climate Change Program (CCP), which supports communities in adapting to the adverse effects of climate change. Central feature of CCP is the Climate Centre, which provides interactive learning and training to community members, government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Through the center, CCDB equips people with the skills needed to address climate challenges and build resilience. The CCP’s capacity-building wing offers tailor-made training on climate change, gender-responsive approaches, and risk assessments, fostering local and international expertise to address climate impact.
  • Project Name: Promoting Climate Resilient Communities in Bangladesh (PCRCB) Project, Phase II.
  • Role of the Position and Duration: (Duration 1-Jan-2025 to 30-Jun-2026) The Capacity Building Officer will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of interactive training programs, focusing on building capacity for climate resilience and sustainable development. The role includes developing interactive methods, materials, and e-learning development, while also organizing and facilitating various capacity-building events tailored to diverse stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design interactive teaching methodologies, including group discussions, role-plays, simulations, and case studies.
  • Develop and update comprehensive training curricula, modules, facilitator guidelines, handouts, videos, and presentations.
  • Support in training facilitators to deliver interactive sessions effectively.
  • Design evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness and participant engagement.
  • Collaborate with the communication team to create visually appealing and user-friendly training materials.
  • Embed interactive features such as quizzes, reflection questions, and multimedia in training resources.
  • Adapt training materials for cultural relevance and multilingual accessibility.
  • Develop e-learning platforms (e.g., Moodle) with interactive features like live chats, polls, and discussion forums.
  • Develop strategies for participant engagement in both virtual and in-person training settings.
  • Implement real-time feedback mechanisms (e.g., Mentimeter, Slido) to create dynamic learning experiences.
  • Organize workshops and capacity-building activities for staff and community members on interactive learning techniques.
  • Plan and execute long-term, short-term, and customized training programs, including certificate courses on climate change and sustainable development.
  • Support hands-on training sessions, field visits, and exchange programs for stakeholders.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and regional or international training sessions on emerging climate challenges.
  • Identify training needs for various stakeholders and prepare comprehensive training plans.
  • Maintain a database of trainers, trainees, and resource persons.
  • Draft relevant documents, including Terms of Reference (ToR), Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), and related training documentation.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training evaluations to assess learning outcomes and their practical applications.
  • Prepare detailed training reports highlighting outcomes and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with trainers, trainees, researchers, and academicians to enhance training quality.
  • Support the preparation of biannual and annual capacity-building activity reports.
  • Contribute to organizational research, advocacy, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Perform any other tasks required by organization
