Diploma in Medical Faculty (DMF) or Diploma Medical Assistant (DMA) With Valid BMDC Registration by the State Medical Faculty of Bangladesh.
Experience

- A minimum 2-year working experience in Rohingya camps will be preferred
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to cope with stress working in the camp environment.
- Good command of English and Chitagonian/Rohingya language as an asset.
- Flexibility to perform other tasks and take initiative when required.
- Cultural awareness/sensitivity and empathy to the target population.
- Awareness and observation of universal medical ethics.
Responsibilities & Context
Job Context
GK was created in 1972 with two visions. Firstly, “the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country”. Secondly, the “development of the country depends on the development of women”. Since 2017, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and UNHCR have entered in a partnership to respond to the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar & Bhasanchar
Job Location: Bhasanchar, Noakhali/ Teknaf, Ukhiya at Cox’s Bazar
Job Responsibilities:
- To diagnose and treat patients in the outpatient department in accordance with GK protocols.
- To assist with triaging patients in the waiting area according to the triage protocol.
- To provide medical care in emergencies anywhere in the clinic at any time.
- To take responsibility for inpatients after hours and on weekends (or whenever necessary) which involves daily ward rounds, close monitoring of sick patients, admissions and discharges, as well as seeing and treating emergency patients that present to the clinic.
- To be on alert and inform the Medical Team Leader and/or expat team of any notifiable diseases, outbreaks, or other health hazards
- To participate, as needed, in the multidisciplinary care of HIV/TB patients, psychiatric care, and SGBV.
- To participate in relevant meetings and training.
- To perform all activities in a manner that demonstrates respect for the individual and maintains confidentiality of information relating to patients.
- To assist in other healthcare and emergency response activities in- and outside the clinic as requested.
Special Note:
- Carry out any additional assignment per her/his position entrusted with the GK Management from time to time and mutually agreed upon
- Management may, at any point in time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshasthaya Kendra’s interests in consultation with the incumbent
- Due to the emergency response nature of GK’s work, hours of work may vary, and employees should be flexible in approaching hours of work in emergency conditions
- The employee must respect the timetable, terms, and conditions of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and should always be available to respond to an emergency
