Responsibilities & Context

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

Technical and operational support to programme implementation:

  • Develop and ensure age-appropriate informal and catch-up education curricula for learning centres and ensure age-appropriate life skill-based training modules.
  • Ensure different periodic studies to find out the output and outcome level changes over the project life and share the progress/learning with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular programme field visits and surveys and exchange information with partners/stakeholders to assess progress and provide technical support.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve issues and/or refer to relevant officials for resolution. Report on critical issues, bottlenecks and potential problems for timely action to achieve results.
  • To support programme implementation, provide technical and operational support to government counterparts, NGO partners, and UN system partners on the application and understanding of Solidar Suisse’s policies, strategies, processes and best practices in child protection.
  • Take the lead on the RANAS approach, Market study, developing and rolling out child labour reporting system etc.
  • Liaise with the CR and Project Coordinator with ministerial, provincial, district and upazilla’s education and social services departments, units and actors,

Collaboration and Representation:

  • Represent Solidar Suisse in relevant forums at the district and divisional level in a professional manner.
  • Liaise with other stakeholders, including DIFE, head teachers, teachers, community leaders and partners and participate actively in coordination meetings.
  • Collaboration with other team members to ensure synergies and consistency in our programming approaches.

Project implementation, supervision and delivery of results:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and partners to discuss implementation issues, provide solutions and recommendations and/or alert the CR for further officials and stakeholder’s higher-level interventions and/or decisions.
  • Keep records of reports and assessments for easy reference and/or to capture and institutionalise lessons learned.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, project reviews and annual reviews with government and other counterparts to assess project and to report on required action/interventions at the higher level of project management.
  • Monitor and report on the use of sectoral programme resources (financial, administrative and other assets), verifying compliance with approved allocations, organisational rules, regulations, procedures and donor commitments, standards of accountability and integrity.
  • Report on critical issues and findings to ensure timely resolution by management and stakeholders and follow up on unresolved issues to ensure resolution.
  • Prepare and ensure regular and mandated project reports from implementing partner for management and donors.

Support to programme development and planning: 

  • Conduct and update the situation analysis for adjusting and managing the Child Labour project through research and reporting on development trends (e.g. economic, social, child labour) and collect data for use in programme development, management, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of results.
  • Provide technical and operational support throughout all stages of the programming processes by executing and administering a variety of technical, programme, operational, budgeting and administrative tasks and preparing related materials and documentation.
  • Comply with organisational processes and management systems to support programme planning, learning, monitoring and evaluating of results.
  • Prepare required project documentation, materials and data to facilitate the project review and approval process. Networking and partnership building.
  • Build and sustain close working partnerships with government counterparts and stakeholders in the project area through actively sharing information and knowledge to facilitate programme implementation and build the capacity of stakeholders to achieve and sustain results on child labour elimination.
  • Provide research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilisation materials and briefs for fundraising and partnership development purposes.
  • Draft communication and information materials for advocacy to promote awareness, establish partnerships/alliances and support fundraising for education of the most vulnerable and to fight child labour.

Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building:

  • Identify, capture, synthesise, and share lessons learned to develop knowledge and build a more comprehensive capacity of local partner, DIFE on child labour elimination.
  • Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices to support implementing and delivering concrete and sustainable programme results.
  • Research and report on best and cutting-edge practices for development planning of knowledge products and systems.
  • Participate as a resource person in capacity-building initiatives to enhance the competencies of staff and stakeholders.
