Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, the country office of Sesame Workshop, a not-for-profit educational organization, creates innovative and engaging content to help all children grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. For more than 50 years, the Workshop has been a global pioneer in educating and entertaining children through multiple media. Sesame Workshop Bangladesh (SWB) started its operations since 2004 and got registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in October 2012. SWB produces the famous children television series ‘Sisimpur’ being broadcasted by multiple TV channels; produce and distributes contents through digital platforms; develops variety of print materials including storybooks, puzzles, games, posters, charts etc.; and distributes them through government organizations and NGOs. Position Profile
The IT Officer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, support, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and services at the SWB Office and across the operational countries. This includes providing essential technical support, managing systems and applications, and ensuring industry-standard IT service management procedures are followed. The role demands a proactive individual who is adept at solving complex IT issues, collaborating with all staff, and driving IT improvements across the organization. The description below is indicative and will not be limited to the following –

Reports to : Director- Finance and Operations
Reports to: SWB Country Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Contract length: Full time Employment with extension
Key Job Responsibility
IT Support & Incident Management
- Provide timely and effective IT support for operational systems and applications, with a focus on Microsoft 365 and other critical business applications.
- Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving incidents in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Manage and escalate critical technical issues to the appropriate support channels.
- Maintain a high level of service quality by adhering to industry-standard IT service management processes.
User & System Administration
- Manage user activation, deactivation, and permissions across systems and applications, including operating systems, Office productivity tools, antivirus solutions, and others.
- Ensure proper user management practices are followed, maintaining security standards while supporting day-to-day operational needs.
- Provide user training and guidance on IT tools, systems, and applications, including troubleshooting tips.
IT Infrastructure & Network Support
- Support and maintain the email systems, network connectivity, and hardware devices for the SWB office across business operations in various countries.
- Assist in the implementation and upgrades of IT infrastructure components, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Oversee basic hardware and software troubleshooting, ensuring timely repair or replacement of defective equipment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, system documentation, and IT policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain various IT-related reports (e.g., incident reports, performance reports, system usage reports) as needed by management, auditors, or other stakeholders.
- Organize and manage technical documentation on SharePoint or other structured filing systems.
Project Support & Process Improvement
- Assist in the preparation and upgrading of requirement specifications, user manuals, and other project-related documents.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement IT solutions and improvements as per business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the IT operations and propose new solutions for automation or optimization.
- Support virtual meetings, assist in structuring and managing meeting logistics, and document meeting minutes and action items.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, security standards, and legal requirements.
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing cybersecurity measures to protect systems, data, and users across the organization.
- Participate in regular security audits and risk assessments, providing recommendations for mitigating vulnerabilities.
End-User Training & Support
- Provide end-user training on new or upgraded systems and applications, ensuring users are proficient and confident in using IT tools.
- Support end-users by offering practical troubleshooting steps and offering guidance on resolving common technical issues.
Support for Remote Operations
- Assist remote or off-site teams with IT issues related to system access, networking, or communication tools (e.g., VPN, video conferencing platforms).
- Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across different geographical locations by supporting and maintaining effective virtual meeting tools and systems.
