  • Five years’ progressively responsible experience in programming with children/ youth or vulnerable communities on issues related to child protection, youth empowerment, climate change, preferably in development contexts

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bangla
  • Excellent Project Cycle Management (PCM) skills

Responsibilities & Context

Context:

  • Tdh has been present and active in Bangladesh since 1974 and focuses its work on Migration, tackling child labour, health, child protection, WASH, Access to Justice and humanitarian aid. We are currently working in Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, Ukhia, Teknaf, Satkhira and Kurigram.
  • Tdh has been a key player in Kurigram , notably on health and child protection. The Deputy Project Manager will be in charge of the SPiRIT project implementation in Kurigram . The project is focused on Sports for Protection, targeting youth displaced or at risk of displacement in Kurigram District and in Dhaka slums area and their communities.

Description of the position:

  • The Deputy Project Manager reports directly to the Project Manager and is in charge of representing Tdh and of implementing Tdh project in its geographical zone. S/he is responsible for programme staff management, coordination with finance, logistics and human resources, implementation of activities, project development, reporting, coordination with local Government authorities, and stakeholders and ensure security measures.
  • The incumbent will conduct his or her duties in respect of the Charter of Terre des hommes, Tdh Child Protection Policy, Bangladesh laws, policies and constitution.
  • Terre des hommes expects that its contractors’ professional conduct reflects proper behaviour in accordance with local culture and traditions. The incumbent assures the moral protection of the name of Terre des hommes and defends in all circumstances the interests of the movement.
