The SHIKHA project under Social Compolinace Programme aims to strengthen prevention and response to all forms of gender based violence (GBV) at the public and workplaces in Bangladesh through legislative change and effective enforcement, strengthening systems and addressing harmful social norms and gender stereotypes. The project will work in Dhaka, Gazipur, Chattogram, Barisal, Narayanganj and Rajshahi districts in 250 workplaces, 270 educational institutions, public places, digital platforms and with the Government of Bangladesh.

Mejor Responsibilities:

  • Organize, plan and ensure timely and quality implementation of all activities as per activity plan.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on GBV and Sexual Harassment with different target groups.
  • Assist to organize meeting for baseline, end line and assessment survey for GBV protection.
  • Data collection for service mapping and periodic update of service mapping for the Survivor of violence.
  • Facilitate the formation of Sexual Harassment Redress Committee (SHRC) at Educational Institute (EI’s).
  • Conduct Follow-up meetings with students, teachers, parents, SMC and governing body of local educational institutions on prevention of sexual harassment/ cyber violence.
  • Ensure immediate reporting of GBV incidents and ensure case management supports.
  • Liaison and coordinate with multi stakeholders at upazila level i.e. Government officials, local influential community leaders, school management committee, teachers, NGOs/CSOs and RMG management.
  • Conduct orientation and awareness sessions school management.
  • Prepare monthly MIS and other necessary reports and ensure that all required documentation are maintained at project office.
  • Maintain communication with Technical Manager for smooth coordination and implementation.
  • Follow up project activities for ensuring quality of interventions.

    Safeguarding Resp[onsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
