Responsibilities & Context
- To achieve hotel revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by seeking out, identifying and selling hotel’s meeting and event venues, deliver outside catering by meeting RHG M&E standard.
- Develops and implements strategies for achieving individual catering sales goals.
- Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategies as appropriate.
- Identifies potential key accounts (banquet and group) and develops strategies to prioritize and penetrate those accounts.
- Makes outside sales calls to prospective catering customers.
- Clarifies customer requirements and suggests alternative menus, themes, etc.
- Prepares proposals for client which outline details of proposed functions; coordinates preparation of estimates with food and beverage and other departments if needed.
- Negotiates sale of catering sales functions.
- Conducts on-site client inspections to illustrate available services, know meeting and sleeping room set-ups and capabilities.
- Monitors customer satisfaction with catering business; follows-up with key contacts on a regular basis to assess satisfaction.
- Ensure all materials used are in accordance with RHG brand standards.
- Communicates clients’ requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner.
- Works with sales team for additional business opportunities as appropriate.
- Assists in reviewing the function book and conducts evaluation of releasing or finalizing functions.
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
- Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.
- Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis.
- Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction.
- Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality.
- Keeps immediate Manager promptly and fully informed of all challenges or unusual matters of significance.
- Maintains a high standard of personal grooming at all times in order to represent the Hotel in the best possible manner, reflecting the public role of the position.
- Develops and participates in Hotel promotions as required.
- Be familiar with objectives, strategies, action plans and other marketing related information contained within the Hotel annual business plan.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment.
