Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

The incumbent will work in a team managing IT Server and Storage Infrastructure and ensure maximum service availability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our IT Server and Storage Infrastructure. You will also be involved in the capacity planning and deployment of the server equipment as well as troubleshooting any issues.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers in both bare-metal and virtualized environments.
Manage and maintain VMware environments for server virtualization.
Manage day-to-day operations of the data center, including hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Responsible for managing Servers, Storage (SAN & NAS) system at Data Center.
Responsible for administering Active directory service, mail service, DNS, Website and proxy services.
Manages system design/architecture and monitors system stability and activity, making recommendations for additional resources and equipment.
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
Familiarity with Oracle and SQL database operations.
Perform server administration tasks, research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
Monitor data-center health using existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed.
Responsible for maintenance, protection & development of company’s IT systems such as Access Control, Surveillance systems, etc. and performs routine monitoring of all the installed systems.
Conduct regular security audits and apply patches to address vulnerabilities.
Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Perform regular backups, updates, and disaster recovery planning.
Maintain inventory of data center equipment and perform capacity planning.
Generate periodic reports and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, data center operations, and IT procedures.

Education, Experience & Skills:

B.Sc. in CSE/Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent and relevant engineering degree from reputed local or foreign university.
Minimum 6 years of experience in system administration with significant exposure to Data Centre Operations.
Strong expertise in Linux and Windows Server administration.
Proficiency in managing VMware virtualization platforms.
Hands-on experience with data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, and environmental monitoring.
Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) is an advantage.
Relevant Certification from Microsoft and Red Hat is required. Certification with VMware solutions would be added advantage.
