The organization’s vision is tailored to address the complex challenges encountered by communities, especially in regions that are highly susceptible to the adverse effects of climate change. RDF has demonstrated committed dedication to improving the quality of life for marginalized populations, such as women and youth, through meticulously planned interventions and strategic partnerships. By leveraging local and national strategies, RDF ensures that its programs are effective, scalable, and sustainable, fostering resilience and self-sufficiency in the communities it serves. Resource Development Foundation (RDF) will implement a project named ‘Transforming Gender Inequality and Ensuring Empowerment for Climate-induced Displaced People in Urban Slum’ at Barishal from 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2027 funded by Climate Bridge Fund (CBF) with financial support from the Government of Germany through KfW, and BRAC. This project will be implemented in the slum areas of Barishal City Corporation. To implement the project, RDF invites applications from the competent and qualified persons for the following position.
The Community Mobiliser will plays a vital role in engaging with local communities, raising awareness, and supporting the implementation of activities aimed at protecting children’s rights. Their responsibilities often focus on community mobilization, education, and advocacy. The community Mobiliser’s responsibility includes Community Mobilization & Engagement, Awareness Raising & Advocacy, Support to Vulnerable Children, Capacity Building, Reporting and Monitoring, Collaboration with Key Stakeholders etc.
Responsibilities:
- Develop union-based work plans for community mobilization.
- Prepare work plans for community and school-based interventions.
- Facilitate sessions to raise awareness in the community.
- Create and facilitate safe spaces for adolescent girls and women to discuss their issues.
- Organize various events aligned with project interventions.
- Collaborate with the relevant committee in the Union Parishad to strengthen community-based child protection systems.
- Implement project activities (e.g., beneficiary selection, group formation, child and youth protection, champion father-mother programs) at the field level to ensure quality.
- Conduct awareness-raising sessions in schools.
- Develop and maintain safe spaces for adolescent girls at risk of dropping out of school.
- Collaborate with school committees to strengthen school-based child protection systems.
- Conduct Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) with target groups and facilitate group formation.
- Support family development plans, individual plans, and business development plans, ensuring their rollout.
- Conduct community risk assessments (CRA).
- Maintain liaison with local government representatives.
- Provide regular reports to the team according to the implementation plans.
- Perform any other duties assigned by RDF project personnel.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
