Requirements
Education
Post Graduate in any subject. Graduation in Agriculture/Agriculture Engineering/Water management or in the relevant subjects will be given preference.

At least 3 years of practical experience in the development sector.

Responsibilities & Context
Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) is a national voluntary social welfare organization. JCF is implementing SAFAL for Integrated Water Resources Management (SAFAL for IWRM) project supported by Solidaridad. To ensure the quality implementation of the project, JCF intends to recruit project staff from qualified candidates of Bangladeshi nationals.
Job Responsibility:
§ To lead the overall process of watershed assessment and identification of feasible micro watersheds for restoration/rejuvenation in the assigned Upazilas according to watershed selection guidelines.§ To lead the collectivization process of farmers of catchment areas of selected micro watersheds and formation of Local Water Users Groups (LWUG) and Watershed Committees ensuring women and youth representation according to the process defined in the guideline.§ Facilitate the formation of a Watershed Committee for each of the selected micro watersheds ensuring women and youth representation as stated in the guideline.§ Ensure organization and facilitation support to the watershed committee and LWUG for developing micro watershed restoration design, improvement of the design in consultation with relevant government departments, and implementation of the restoration/excavation works of micro watershed along with water reservoirs.§ Provide necessary guidance and backstopping support to Water Cluster Facilitators (WCF) to ensure participation and contributions of farmers of the catchment areas, relevant government departments, Union Parishad, and other stakeholders in micro watershed restoration and development of water reservoirs. Support the Watershed committee to remain effectively functional with proper governance.§ Support WCF in organizing and facilitating capacity-building training for the farmers for adoption of Climate Smart Agricultural (CSA) /Regenerative Agricultural and water efficient technologies.§ Develop design for trial and demo plots and support WCF in identifying suitable farmers and establishing demonstration/trial plots on CSA/Regenerative agriculture, water use efficiency, and soil health improvement technologies.§ Provide technical and backstopping support to farmers of watershed catchment areas for adopting the most suitable cropping pattern, CSA/Regenerative Agricultural technologies, and water use efficient technologies considering local ecosystem and market demands§ Provide organizing and facilitation support to WCF for developing a ‘catchment area cropping plan’ and implementation of the plan by the Watershed Committee and LWUG.§ Provide necessary support to develop Digital Advisory Services and promote the use of digital advisory services by the farmers.§ Ensure planning and technical support to the farmers of LWUG for the improvement of farm structures that supports the efficient use of water.§ Ensure M&E data collection, compilation, and prepare reports according to SAFAL-IWRM M&E Framework. Also support the M&E team in capturing learning, challenges, and documentation of successful cases.§ Organize training, meetings, workshop, and other project events with guidance from the supervisors.§ Maintain effective liaison with the local representatives of private sectors, local extension officials, Union Parishad, and community leaders to ensure their support in project implementation.§ Provide support to Training Officer for developing Capacity building plan for staff and farmers and contribute to developing different training materials§ Strengthen team spirit, create enabling environment for team members, and keep the team members motivated towards achieving set output and outcomes of the project.§ Ensure timely logistic support to the team members and adherence to the financial and HR policy of the organization/§ Engage and participate in other activities as will be deemed necessary for project implementation and will be assigned by your supervisors.§ Maintain humanitarian national and international standards applicable. § Follow the organization’s Child Safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender, and Whistle Blowing Policy.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Tk. 40,000 per month, Consolidated and other admissible benefits as per organizational policy as well as the project.
