Responsibilities & Context

Ensure Myanmar Curriculum education for FDMN children – (50%)

  • Create a supportive learning environment which will help your students meet their learning goals. Through interesting and diverse methods, you’ll teach them the important rules of reading, writing, and speaking in English. Oversee their progress by tracking their assignment and exam grades, to provide useful feedback
  • Develop and implement a Myanmar curriculum to the needs and proficiency levels of Rohingya children
  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive English lessons that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills development
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and materials to engage students and accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate
  • Assess student learning progress through regular evaluations, assignments, quizzes, and tests, and provide timely and constructive feedback
  • Incorporate language immersion activities, such as conversations, role-plays, and language games, to enhance language acquisition and fluency
  • Integrate English language instruction across various subject areas and activities to reinforce learning and promote interdisciplinary connections
  • Develop and administer language proficiency assessments to monitor student achievement and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to align English language instruction with overall educational goals and objectives
  • Provide individualized support and teaching to students who require additional support in learning English language skills
  • Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and research in English language teaching and learning, and integrate innovative approaches into teaching practices
  • Foster a positive relationship with students, parents, guardians, and caregivers, and communicate regularly regarding students’ progress and achievements in English language learning
  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who encounter the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so

    Monitoring and Knowledge Management – (15%)

  • Ensure day-to-day observation, monitoring and follow-up of all field activities mentioned in the annual action plan and directed by the programme management.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and share the knowledge & findings to ensure effective programme implementation.
  • Take the initiative to make the CFRM (Complaint and Feedback Response Mechanism) active and monitor regularly, and circulate other Govt. hotline services (i.e. 999, 333, 109);

    Financial Management – (05%)

  • Manage project finance & budget (i.e. Bill, vouchers, PR, money requisition, cash advance, etc.) following organizational tools & system

    Volunteer Management & Capacity Building – (10%)

  • Manage, supervise and support the field staff in conducting their assigned responsibilities as well as playing a mentoring role as required.
  • Ensure required capacity of respective field staff in delivering qualitative output, and properly acknowledge their performance (annual performance appraisal, daily attendance, field movement register) at least bi-weekly.
  • Identify learning & development needs, and take required action to fill the gaps/needs in coordination with programme management and HRM&D unit

    Reporting and Documentation – (10%)

  • Take lead to produce quality programme/project progress reports as per the requirements of donors & IR
  • Prepare monthly/ quarterly/any other reports of project as required by line management.
  • Collect the most significant case stories from the field and prepare learning document

Others – (10%)

  • Participate & involved with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.
  • Take initiatives to ensure the security of project staff and participants during the intervention.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing safe working environment.
  • Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organization, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey the lR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
