Working Experience and Other Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in Agriculture sector.

• Relevant working experience with PKSF or any project funded by multi-lateral development partners would be preferred.

• Good computer knowledge (MS Office).
• Have a valid motorcycle driving license.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years of age on the last date of application.

Duration of the Position: The employee will initially be hired for a one-year term, with the possibility of organization core staffs based on satisfactory performance.

Workplace: Work at project office (Chuadanga) with frequent field visit (at least 60% of time) in Sub-project working areas

Job Location/Sub-project Working Areas: The project will be implemented across Chuadanga and Jhenaidah districts.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context

WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing multifaceted activities for the socio economic development of the poor and marginalized as well as the establishment of universal human rights and good governance. Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto ‘Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing ‘A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 7 programs: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion and 7) Go Green. WAVE Foundation is implementing a project titled ‘Establishment of Agroecological Learning Centre for Extension of Environment Friendly Safe Food Production’ as a part of the ‘Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP)’. For implementing the project in the working area of Chuadanga and Jhenaidah WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘Training Officer’.

Key Responsibilities:

The ‘Training Officer’ is responsible for overall implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project at the field. His/her duties and responsibilities, which are essential but not limited to:

• Assist the Field Coordinator in implementing project activities.
• Assist to identify potential farmers/microenterprises (MEs), select appropriate climate-resilient and resource-efficient cleaner production (RECP) practices for MEs and motivate them to adopt those practices.
• Provide technical support to farmers/MEs at cluster level.
• Select farmers/MEs for demonstration, set-up demonstration, and follow-up the MEs.
• Assist the Field Coordinator to prepare training manuals, leaflets, case stories etc.
• Arrange and facilitate training session, field days, meetings, workshops, seminars, fairs, etc. as per the project plan.
• Explore circular economy, value-added product diversification, new market potentiality.
• Assist to produce monthly, quarterly and annual progress report as per the requirement of the management.
• Regular field visit at project site, tracking the farmers/MEs’ progress in adoption of the technologies and reporting;
• Maintain linkages with different government departments (i.e. DAE, DoE), value-chain actors (inputs sellers, market actors, transporter etc.), etc.
• Any other tasks, duties, or specific tasks assigned by the Project Manager and management of the WAVE Foundation.

Salary and Allowances

• Monthly consolidated salary is BDT 30,000 with early increment as per project provision.
• Other admissible benefits (Festival Bonus, Bangla Noboborsho allowance, Mobile allowance, etc.) as per the organization’s policy/project provision.
• Salary and other admissible benefits (if any) are inclusive of all taxes as imposed by the government of Bangladesh. Taxes will be deducted at sources as per government rules.
