Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science & Engineering, Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science & Engineering or Equivalent.

Experience

Additional Requirements

• Oracle DBA certification (OCA, OCP, or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA managing large-scale databases in a production environment.
• Proficient in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Strong experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other database monitoring tools.
• Solid understanding of SQL and PL/SQL for query optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and patches.
• Knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) and scripting languages (Shell/Perl).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Oracle Cloud, Azure) for database management.
• Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and scaling.
• Familiarity with other databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Description:

We are seeking an Oracle Certified Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database management and administration. As a DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Oracle databases. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our database infrastructure supports business operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments (versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, 23c).
• Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure high performance.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies for databases.
• Ensure database security by implementing security policies and controls.
• Manage database patches, upgrades, and migrations.
• Monitor database performance and resolve any issues to maintain service continuity.
• Implement disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance issues.
• Work with developers and other IT teams to optimize database queries and ensure smooth database integration.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
