Hands-on experience with Swagger for API documentation
Experience integrating Stripe API for payments
Strong grasp of MySQL performance optimization and query tuning
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment
Hands-on experience with Linux server management, cron jobs, and debugging tools
Self-motivated, able to work independently, and deliver results with minimal supervision
Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with daily checkups

Nice to Have

Experience with GraphQL, WebSockets, caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)

About Link My Gear

Link My Gear is an innovative IoT-driven sports telemetry platform designed for skydivers and extreme sports enthusiasts. Our system enables real-time gear tracking, jump data analysis, and post-activity insights, helping athletes improve performance and safety.

We already have a Drupal-based backend and are looking for a self-driven Senior PHP Backend Developer to maintain, optimize, and extend our existing system. This is a critical role in ensuring the backend remains scalable, secure, and efficient, while supporting new mobile app integrations.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior PHP Backend Developer specializing in Drupal to support and improve our existing backend infrastructure. You will work closely with Android and iOS developers to ensure seamless API integration, performance optimizations, and system stability. If you are self-motivated, results-driven, and eager to take ownership, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Maintain, optimize, and extend our existing Drupal-based backend.
Ensure stability, security, and performance of backend services.
Collaborate with mobile developers to refine RESTful APIs for app integration.
Develop and maintain API documentation using Swagger.
Implement Stripe API for payment processing and ensure secure transactions.
Optimize MySQL database performance and ensure efficient query execution.
Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment and testing.
Monitor server health, logs, and API performance for proactive issue resolution.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
Maintain proper documentation for backend architecture, APIs, and system configurations.
Participate in technical decision-making and long-term backend planning.
Work independently while actively communicating progress and blockers.
Potential to grow into a leadership role, guiding future backend developers.
