Responsibilities & Context

Accountabilities:

  • Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e. perform as a nurse, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
  • Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures and supervise that his/her team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her specialty.
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Carry out and/or supervise the (decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.)in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Timely reporting of any malfunction to the project biomedical service shall be observed.
  • Carry-out and/or coordinate administrative (exit-paper, transfer-paper, etc.), information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.Give regular feedback/ reports to medical focal point, and as needed.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that all MSF medical activities on the departments under their supervision are carried out in accordance with MSF standards, by enforcing the respect of the internal protocols and MSF guidelines and encouraging teamwork in the facility.
  • Supervision of  the medical activities concerning  at the nurse department and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards including but no limitated at the services: Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICUs), Intensive Treatment Family Care (ITFC), pediatric and neonatal In-Patient Department (IPDs).
  • Coordinate the activities for the team under their supervision, prioritizing a proper management on timing, comunication and organization.
  • Ensure the quality of care and patient safety by facilitating communication between departments and care providers.
  • Maintains and supervise the data collection and patient confidentallity in Goyalmara Hospital, in collaboration with the registrar and data entry operator.
  • Facilitate retrospective and/or prospective data collection according to the operational needs requested by his/her supervisor with close collaboration with Medical doctors and Medical assistant.
  • Ensures appropriate triage and smooth flow of the patient within the OPD to IPD departments.
  • Identify and ensure availability of the material needs (equipment and consumable material) required for the functioning the wards under their supervision.
  • With the supervison of his/her direct line manager, perform training to his/her team prioritizing the hospital needs an focusing on the quality of care improvement on accordance of MSF standars.
  • Ensure a good communication with medical and non-medical departments of the hospital, including but no limitated to logistic, outreach, laboratory, pharmacy, biomedical, operations, HR etc.

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Salary per month according to level eight (8) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 95,000/- gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary will be applicable based on the current income tax rule.
  • Two (2) annual leave days per month worked.
  • Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on MSF Health Care Policy
  • Two (2) Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted service.
