Requirements

Education

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science, Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Science.

Post Graduate Diploma in Social Compliance Will be preferable.

Responsibilities & Context

• Sustainability (EMS & ECR) for Environmental & Chemical Compliance to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and ensuring the factory’s adherence to environmental and chemical regulations as per buyer Codes of Conduct (COC) and relevant standards. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to improve environmental and chemical performance, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and international standards.¬¬¬¬
• Goal Setting: Develop and implement short-term and long-term objectives and targets to drive continual improvement in environmental and chemical performance.
• Compliance Monitoring: Evaluate, monitor, and ensure the factory’s compliance with environmental, chemical, and buyer COC regulations and standards.
• Record Management: Update chemical inventory in regular basis, chemical MSDS & Various certificate as per our buyer’s requirements for chemical issues.
• Prepare and maintain records for energy, water, wastewater, and other consumption metrics as per audit requirements.
• Collect and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), test reports, and RSL/MRSL declaration letters from chemical suppliers, and distribute them to relevant departments.
• Risk Management: Analyses environmental aspects and impacts, implementing mitigation measures for significant environmental and chemical risks.
• Training & Development: Conduct training and awareness program for the chemical user about chemical MSDS, handling, PPE using, Storage, health and fire safety.
• ETP & Wastewater Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and wastewater management to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other tasks assigned by management to support the company’s compliance objectives.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and keeping up to date with BSTI, IDCOL, ISO, DOE and others liaison govt. and non govt. office/regulatory bodies.
• Ensuring all fire and safety equipment are functional and upkeep. Regular check, test and monitoring.
• Ensuring regular Fire Drills and training of employees.
• Ensuring Fire prevention and Safety activities done compliant as per laws.
• Legal requirements affecting safety and health.
• Any other task assigned by the Management.
