Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information Technology

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Zend PHP Certification, etc.) are a plus.

Experience

Additional Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in PHP development, with a solid understanding of PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or Zend Framework.
• Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Proven experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX) and how they interact with back-end services.
• Strong knowledge of PHP and MVC frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc.).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of security principles and best practices for web development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Experience with front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.

Responsibilities & Context

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building dynamic, scalable, and high-performance web applications using PHP, Laravel and related technologies. As a Software developer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining web-based applications, and collaborating with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet business requirements.

Responsibilities:

Web Application Development:

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient PHP code to develop web applications and backend services.
• Develop and manage databases, including designing schemas and writing queries.
• Integrate front-end elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and collaborate with designers to implement them.

System Architecture & Design:

• Design and implement scalable and maintainable solutions for web applications.
• Work with the development team to create system architecture and database designs to meet business requirements.
• Implement best practices in software development, including version control, code reviews, and testing.

Database Management:

• Design and optimize Oracle or other relational databases.
• Write efficient queries for CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations.
• Ensure data integrity and optimize database performance.

Code Testing & Debugging:

• Test and debug applications to ensure functionality, reliability, and scalability.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities in the code.
• Write unit tests and perform code reviews to maintain high-quality code standards.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, and project meetings.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members.

Performance Optimization:

• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Monitor and improve the performance of live applications to ensure a smooth user experience.

Documentation:

• Document code, database schemas, and technical specifications for future reference.
• Write clear and concise user-facing documentation when necessary.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development.
• Continuously improve the development process by learning and implementing new tools, techniques, and practices.
