- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Familiarity with publishing software and online content management systems.
- Knowledge of current affairs, local and international news.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Responsibilities & Context
We are looking for a proficient Sub-Editor to join a dynamic team of Print and Digital Media. The position is responsible for collecting and preparing news articles, feature stories and reports, ensuring transparency, honesty and adherence to editorial standards. The role may require to perform for both Print and Digital media and be an effective member of a fast-flourishing media network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain rapport with eminent writers, professionals or personalities and be efficient in collecting write-ups or articles and covering events required for a good news platform.
- Remain aware over editorial enrichment through well written articles.
- Be accountable of article authenticity, text accuracy and presentation that adhere to editorial guidelines.
- Ensure articles free from errors that meet the professional standard of a newspaper.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure proper formatting and placement of the articles.
- Contribute to development by suggesting new topics, articles, feature ideas etc.
- Assist the editorial team in selecting and prioritizing the most important stories for publication.
- And carry out other relevant tasks as recommended by the Management.
