Responsibilities & Context

Job Purpose:

To lead the Area Merchant Development Team in acquiring, servicing the base, and retaining high-quality merchants by fostering strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders. This role is crucial in ensuring that all merchants receive exceptional service and support, ultimately driving merchant satisfaction and long-term business growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the portfolio of Merchant Acquiring & Merchant Servicing under Merchant Development Pillar with with a view to increasing business efficiency through dedicated Teams.
• Oversee Acquisition Team to:
  • Ensure acquisition of quality merchants
  • Oversee lead collection, lead management and merchant pitching as per specific merchant categories
  • Ensure proper merchant onboarding and training of new merchants
  • Make them accustomed to accept payment through bKash
• Oversee Servicing Team to:
  • Ensure proper servicing of merchants by overseeing merchant issue and complaint resolution
  • Cater to generic and unique merchant requests to retain merchants within the bKash ecosystem
  • Drive Payment Count & Amount through customized offerings and campaigns for each merchant category
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure adequate visibility
  • Promoting Merchant Value Added Services that will expand their revenue stream
  • Maintain a pool of Merchant Development Officer (MDO) and ensure they are paying routine visits to merchants with diligence and communicating properly as per their role
  • Take up the responsibility of Business viability for each of the assigned territories, irrespective of the operation being under Distribution Team.
