Responsibilities & Context

Samaj Kallayan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) envisions a peaceful, prosperous, and poverty-free society that ensures everyone’s basic needs and rights. SKUS has since the 2017 Rohingya refugee influx worked in Cox’s Bazar district with children adolescents, women, and men. SKUS works to provide access to learning opportunities in a safe and protective environment, offer quality teaching/learning and increase refugee/host community participation and engagement in children’s education. Based on children’s and adolescents’ rights, SKUS has established quality learning and protection Centre with support from different international donors, including UN agencies.

SKUS has an agreement with Plan International for the project of Education Cannot Wait’s Multi Year Resilience Programme (MYRP) for the Rohingya and host community at Ukhia and Teknaf Upazila in Cox’s Bazar District.

SKUS is looking for a suitable candidate for the immediate appointment of a Admin and Finance Officer for the project as mentioned above in Plan International Consortium, supported by ECW.

Reportable to: Chief Finance Officer

Duration of contract: Up to 14 June 2025. (Possibilities of extension up to 31st Dec 2025 and contingent on donor extension and government approval).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage the accounts of the project and ensure smooth functioning of the accounting systems and record-keeping pertaining to the project
  • Maintain Accounting Software (Tally ) for Project Accounts and update regular posting, where necessary.
  • Evaluation of tenders and co-selection of different sellers/bidders to exclude nepotism, taking advantage or corruption,
  • Development of plans for reporting, internal information flow etc. after consultation with the other team members,
  • Supervision and control of all assistance personnel and their appropriate guidance,
  • Keeping all legal documents relevant to the implementation of the project up to date,
  • Ensuring that the mandatory reports to the competent authorities,
  • Support project management for a smooth project flow,
  • Ensure all Tax & VAT-related work, such as calculation, deduction, and deposit to the bank in accordance with NBR  regulation.
  • Oversee the overall project procurement, including the preparation of the PR & PO and subsequent follow-up for procurement and ensuring the timely receiving of goods.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures & reporting requirements are in compliance with SKUS. Donor, & NGOAB policies, procedures & requirements.
