- Must have experience In Auto Rice Mills. Flour Mills, Feed Mills, or other agro-based companies.
Responsibilities & Context
- Lead the procurement of paddy and other raw materials in a cost-effective, timely, and strategic manner.
- Identify and build long-term relationships with local suppliers, farmers, and purchase agents across multiple regions.
- Forecast raw material requirements based on production schedules and current market demand.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and quality standards with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, harvest cycles, and availability of paddy to ensure uninterrupted procurement.
- Ensure all procurement documentation, contracts, and supplier agreements are accurately maintained and compliant with company policies.
- Coordinate closely with production, warehouse, and finance teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Frequently visit sourcing zones and procurement hubs to assess quality, build trust, and strengthen supplier networks.
- Maintain a detailed supplier database with past performance records and reliability tracking.
- Ensure procurement processes maintain ethical standards and transparency in all transactions.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to senior management on purchase volume, cost efficiency, sourcing challenges, and supplier performance.
- Develop and implement strategies for bulk purchasing and seasonal procurement advantages.
