  • Computer skills: Very good skills in MS Office applications-word/excel/power point presentation, database and familiar with Internet.
  • Computer Knowledge on Accounts Software (Tally ERP-9) is must and it will add additional advantage to the candidate.
  • Excellent Financial Operation and management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skill both in English & bangle.
  • Comfortable in a performance-based organization working with low overhead budget.
  • Providing timely and adequately financial support for smoothly implementation of project activities
  • Good negotiating and influencing skill in implementing personnel policy.
  • Preparing reports, meeting, minutes and any other task assigned by the management.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skill.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision – Dynamism.

Responsibilities & Context

Program: The meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youth with Disabilities in all domain of CBR.

Organization Overview: Association for women empowerment and child rights -AWAC was established in 1998 as a non-profit voluntary social development organization it is registered as a non-political welfare organization under the department of social services. AWAC is going to implement a project named “The Meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youth with Disabilities in All Domains of Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR)” in Rangunia Upazilla which is Financially and Technically supported by the Lilian Fonds and Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). This collaboration between the Lilian Fonds and CDD highlights the importance of empowering Children and Youth with Disabilities and integrating their needs into mainstream community development. By addressing barriers and fostering inclusion, the project will contribute to building more equitable and accessible societies.

Job Overview: The Accounts and Admin Officer will be responsible for managing financial and administrative operations for the program. This includes ensuring compliance with organizational policies, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth program implementation. The role also involves fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace environment aligned with the program’s mission to empower children and youth with disabilities.

Job Location: The job is based in Rangunia Upazilla Under Chattogram district but with regular travel to union level for implementation of project activities smoothly.

Reporting Line: Directly reportable to Head of Finance/Finance Manager & Indirectly reportable to Project Coordinator/Project Focal.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update lease agreements, contracts, and other relevant documents at the Project Office.
  • Ensure accommodation, ticketing, and logistical support for internal and external visitors.
  • Ensure machines and equipment, such as photocopiers, computers, printers, and IPS systems, are in good working condition.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the Project Office premises and the efficient and effective operation of utility services and office security.
  • Provide logistical support for organizing meetings, workshops, seminars, training sessions, and interviews as necessary.
  • Assist internal and external consultants, researchers, donors, and other visitors by providing information, documents, and necessary coordination.
  • Organize and provide administrative support for workshops, meetings, and training sessions held at internal or external venues.
  • Handle official procurement directly or through the office as per PO/Donor policies, or assist in calling for quotations and arranging Procurement Committee meetings for decision-making.
  • Maintain inventory records according to the asset classification of PO/Donor policies for the Project Office.
  • Properly store materials and keep the store register updated with relevant supporting documents.
  • Maintain records related to staff personal files, attendance registers, leave registers, movement registers, and fixed assets registers.
  • Operate and maintain Tally ERP 9/Prime accounting software.
  • Supervise office support staff.
  • Assist in selecting and negotiating with local service providers within established financial parameters.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end closures of accounts, including bank reconciliations, bank statements, and other related documentation, and submit reports to headquarters as per prescribed deadlines.
  • Implement financial policies, procedures, and requirements to ensure all financial activities comply with organizational and donor guidelines.
  • Assist in budget analysis and disbursement according to the project budget activity lines, and prepare month-wise expenditure plans in consultation with the Project Team Leader.
  • Maintain proper cash control and manage books of accounts and other financial documents.
  • Monitor the financial activities of the project closely.
  • Check and verify bills and process payments.
  • Randomly verify various types of financial transactions.
  • The candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting practices, income tax, VAT, and customs regulations in the country.
  • Proficiency in operating computers, including MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Competency in strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving, along with strong analytical abilities, is essential.
